Do you ever get scared of asking or answering a question on here for fear of getting abuse?

Boadicea 2012/10/24 09:49:31
Sometimes I do, which is why (Although when a certain debate is going on, I tend to want bring forth my opinion) I don't bother as most of those turn into arguments and you always get that one person who just answers you with foul language and rude remarks.
You!

No, I don't but when it comes to the political questions, I don't answer those nor religious because some people get too worked over giving a personal opinion and there is no excuse for that behavior when they make rude comments and like you said, foul language.

Contrary to the opinion of certain vapid idiots, verbal abuse (even from total strangers) still qualifies as abuse.

That being said, mere words on a screen alone can't "scare" me, no matter how hateful or belligerent they may be.

If someone should ever decide to threaten me or to try to track me down in real life, then they're the ones who need to be scared.

screen scare hateful belligerent decide threaten track real life scared

When someone's opinion isn't respecting some people, like if you are against gay marriage, expect people to treat you like you treat others : with no respect

not saying it's your case, but many do

Yes, as I said, you respect only those who agree with you yet you hypocritically claim to be the paragon of tolerance. Intolerance will not be tolerated!

Yes, but your interpretation of "respecting others" equates to thinking the same way you do about redefining marriage. Your definition of an "@$$hole" is someone who doesn't want to redefine marriage to mean something it has never meant before in thousands of years of recorded human history.
  • xcheshi... thefatguy 2012/10/30 14:55:40
    xcheshirecat
no, it's someone that want others people to have less rights. By the way, you know that marriage was redefined to include interacial marriage?
  • thefatguy xcheshi... 2012/10/30 15:25:54
    thefatguy
All adult humans have the same rights, regardless of sexual preference. Homosexuals have the same legal opportunity to marry as heterosexual people. Just like straight males, homosexual males are free to marry females if they want and just like straight females, homosexual women are free to marry males if they want. The fact that they choose not to do so is their problem.

Trying to make some kind of point by comparing race and sexual preference is comparing apples and oranges. The interracial marriage of males and females has a long history prior to relatively recent anti-miscegenation laws. But, the word "marriage" has never meant same-sex couples.
  • xcheshi... thefatguy 2012/10/30 16:26:50
    xcheshirecat
Having the right to marry someone you don't want to isn't a right
But I see that you are the stupid kind who thinks it's a choice

If you had the right only to marry a liberal ugly woman, would you called that equal right ?
  • thefatguy xcheshi... 2012/10/30 16:44:20
    thefatguy
So, you must be in favor of incestuous marriage and polygamy. If not, then how can you deny marriage to consenting adults who choose to marry more than one person or who choose to marry close relatives - mother and son, father and daughter, brother and sister, brother and brother, sister and sister, father and son, mother and daughter? On what grounds can you deny them their equal rights to marriage?

I'm not for abuse so no incest. If it's not abuse, even without marriage they should start with being sterile. Polygamy doesn't mean equal. They can do it if they want, but they can't try to get financial advantages

2 consentant adults are 2 consentant adults, not 3
  • thefatguy xcheshi... 2012/10/30 18:29:29
    thefatguy
I'm talking about incest between adults over 18 so there is no abuse. On what grounds can you dictate that they must be sterilized? It's none of your business. How does an incestuous couple's child threaten your children?

Why limit it to two? On what grounds can you argue against what more than two consenting adults choose to do? On what grounds can you deny the spouses of polygamous married relationships ALL the advantages of marriage - legal and financial? That's not equality, which you claim to support.
  • xcheshi... thefatguy 2012/10/30 21:28:10
    xcheshirecat
abuse isn't only to minors. For example, a mentally handicapped person can be easily manipulated

They must be sterilized because it has high chance to have genetic problems. We need differents genes than us to conceive genetically good kids. I don't care about my kids only, but all kids

2 consentants adults are 2 consentants adults. Polygamy is therefore irrelevant

But, it can't be done right now in my country at least. That would mean a guy wouldn't pay (or little) taxes because of his wifes (gender can be changed in the example but it's rare)

So it is not just to 2 person couples

If we change the taxes system, we could, I wouldn't care about polygamy.

    But it's still irrelevant
  • thefatguy xcheshi... 2012/10/30 21:36:29
    thefatguy
You have no right forcing other people to be sterilized against their will. It's none of your business if people have genetic problems.
  • xcheshi... thefatguy 2012/10/30 23:22:41
    xcheshirecat
It's the business of people who have those genetics problems and are like that against their will.it's not a right to create defective kids. Plus, I said it was conditionnal of marrying someone of your family. If you can't play correctly, we won't encourage you
  • thefatguy xcheshi... 2012/10/31 00:12:10
    thefatguy
There's no guarantee that incestuous reproduction will result in any genetic issue so you have no right to force sterilization just because of what might happen. Yes, the chances are higher but they're not certain. So, are you going to sterilize dwarfs and others with inheritable genetic defects too because of the increased likelihood of inherited genetic issues? Who else should be sterilized in your world? And, why do you think you have any right to make these judgements?
