I'd been craving stuffed bell peppers for a long time now, but they are a lot of work to make. Especially for one person. So the other day I got me some of the Stouffer's brand. I always passed them up because I was sure they would suck goats. WRONG! They are pretty darn good.

I needed the hardly ever choice-lol. Awhile ago I was really sick and could not get food for myself. I had to keep a stash of microwave meals on hand. I don't really like them but some are tolerable.

It's an American company but in Canada most of my local groceries stores have it. There are soups and many frozen entrees. I would suggest a Trader Joes or that type of place.

I will eat microwave dinners when I have to but I have never been able to figure out how to get a meal off the tv....

I don't know what grocers you have in San Antonio , but in Knoxville , TN , Krogers often has big discounts on Stouffers brand.

HEB and Walmart mostly, they ran off Krogers and Albertsons ... I get most of my food from HEB when I discovered how much cheaper it was then Safeway/Appletree in college.

That in particular is my favorite Stouffer's frozen dish. They are surprisingly good at times. Decent lasagna too! I really like their seafood offerings. It isn't cheap, but often their meals aren't for one person either.

The two stuffed peppers are $2.94 at my local Walmart. No way I could make them for that myself. I could make them BETTER, but at about double that price.

And yes, some of their stuff IS a bit more expensive.

The thing I lile about them is more often than not, the peppers come out with some decent texture left to em. You'd think they'd be mushy, but no, they're fine. The price is very fair on those in particular, and they take not that long to make.

I've had the lasagne and it is good. Too much for one person, but the leftovers did for lunch next day. Have to check out the seafood. (I love SodaHead! I learn so much on here!)

The stouffer's stuffed peppers are really good. That is one of the ones I buy the most because it taste almost home cooked.

When I was still working (a couple of weeks ago) I would often have them for lunch because they are inexpensive and convenient when you only have a refrigerator and microwave at your disposal.

Remember when they came in those little aluminum trays with compartments for the different stuff? Of course that was before microwave ovens and the "TV dinners" had to be cooked in an oven. And we really did eat them on "TV trays" sitting in the livingroom in front of the TV watching "I Love Lucy" and "Milton Berle" and Sid Cesar's "Show of Shows". Oh, wow, that's been a while!

Yes. I don't think they give you big enough portions though. They don't fill me up.

My favorite is Chicken Margherita.
