OH, best thing to do, is whenever you get a meal just cut it in half. I'm only twelve and used to be grossly overweight (but really tall) and now I'm really tall and skinny. Plus I do like ten sit ups in the morning and the evening, which is easy. I lost like fourteen kilos in a month :)
I believe the stupid govt pyramid says 5 servings of fruits AND veggies. I do not eat fruit very often because the fruit we have today is huge, altered to have much more sugar than 100 years ago, and not really any more beneficial to your health than veggies. I eat fruit a LOT when in season and rarely at other times for the above stated reasons. It is a much better alternative to candy though. But I always have 5 servings of veggies a day, love em!
Yeah...it is a lot of fruit ....and not real cheap here in Arizona. I eat so much to keep my weight down....I can't do the diet thing so I eat as much fruit as possible. I just wish our fruit was as good as where it is grown. We grow some, but its not real tasty.
