    In fact I didn't dress at all. Another thing I'm thankful for: being able to go naked at my family's house.

    I stopped dressing up after my Grandmother died, now it's just my mom, dad and myself, sometimes my Grandpa comes over but there's no reason for such a small get together.
    My brother and sister in law can't come and I'm not going to the big one because there's no reason to.

    To me, Thanksgiving has become 'de-Indianized'. People forget that the first Thanksgiving was to thank the Creator for the food they had for the coming Winter, and for the native people that showed them how to grow it.

    I have friends at Gay Head. Nice people Wampanoags. One o the Eastern nations that was able to hold onto much of their tradition.

    Most of the Eastern powwows are now. I've stopped attending. It stopped being a powwow and began being a show. I'm not a performer, I'm a Cree........so I go to backwoods powwows now, where things are done western style and there aren't a lot of spectators.

    Dressing up for holidays is a tradition passed on to me. I have always enjoyed being a part of a gathering of people who put on their best to celebrate a special dinner or day togeather. Rich or poor, a big turkey with all the trimmings or a pot of homemade potatoe soup, the best trimmings include how you show up to celebrate. Don't forget the smile ;)

    I spend all day cooking. I generally wear something that looks ok with mashed potatoes spilled on it.
