I am too close to me to make an objective observation. Until someone else decides to share their observations of me with me, I can say that I feel as though I compartmentalize my emotions for the most part. Some emotional states I enjoy sharing because they bring joy to more individuals than just me. For the sake of my sanity and others around me, I bottle the "sore looser" emotions up so the emotions don't feed themselves and snowball out of control. The way we handle the things that affect us, directly affect those around us.

Sometimes you should...pouring out your gut isn't always a good thing. But sometimes it is, just one of those things you learn to juggle in life.

I had to learn how to do this when I worked in the medical field; you can't be sobbing in front of patients! In my private life I sometimes do this, but only when I want to think something through before I discuss it. I don't think it is healthy as a rule, but there are times when it is the wise thing to do.

.....and I think, in general, men are better at this than women. Women can do it too, with a little effort and practice. It's one of the many things I learned from my ex-husband that will benefit me and those around me for the rest of my lifetime.
