Do you believe that you should have the obligation to tell the government about all of your economic activities and all of your assets on a regular basis? And that obligation be enforced by threat of confiscation of your assets, fines or imprisonment?

Not just NO, but HELL NO! What we need is a smaller, more efficient Gov't that works FOR US, not against us. As Marcus pointed out, we need the FairTax. It will ABOLISH THE IRS and reduce lobbying in DC by ~50%. Let's get the corruption out of DC NOW!!

americans should be just as obligated as Gov is to tell us about theirs!

I don't like doing it, but the alternative is jail if you don't send in your "contribution". What would all these libbies have to say if you didn't pay your "fair share"?

IRS and Income Tax should both be abolished.....A National Sales Tax, or a Flat Tax would be fairer...you make a dollar...give back 10% to help keep the government running.......

Would you prefer a country that just never collected any revenue?

Collecting revenue isn't the problem. It's HOW it is collect that is the problem. The system we have is antiquated and corrupted. It needs to be replaced.

The poor paying exactly the same % of tax as billionaires is not a fair tax!

The very best we can hope for in any tax, is that it is least damaging to the economy and least damaging to personal liberty.

The Bush tax cuts for the rich and corporations were the most damaging to the economy. So get rid of them!

What hurt the economy and caused the deficits were the illegal and unwise wars, not the tax cuts.

The tax cuts were a whole lot to blame also, and if we had returned to the Clinton era taxes when Obama wanted to things would be a lot better now.

The FairTax is fair because even the poorest household will only pay the same rate as a "rich" household when they spend above the poverty level. A household with 2 adults and 2 children spending $58,000 only pays 11% of that spending.

That does not make it fair.

It changes often and we barter a lot. We'll find a lot more of that going on in the future. Government is just wayyy to involved in our minute doings.

Support H.R. 25 and S. 13 to shut down the IRS and eliminate the abomination of the federal income tax. Also support similar efforts in all State that currently have a State income tax.

When I was young, growing up in Germany, the answer to this question would have been a resounding NO. Especially with the experience of the Third Reich, it was understood that people need financial privacy to retain any kind of freedom.
