I know first hand that prayers are answered. Sometimes, not they way you would expect, but they are still answered.

If you ask me, prayer is something that you do to make you feel like you're helping when in reality you're doing absolutely nothing.

I would think if someone thought enough about you, to pray for you, they would want to do other things for you, as well.

That's true, but I think praying itself doesn't do anything.

I'll say this, for the person being prayed for it is a VERY comforting feeling to know there are people praying for you. I know from experience, but think about this. If just one of those people that is praying for you, really has the ear of God.
I should be Dead, after a 2001 car wreck. The local surgeon, who was well trained in trauma cases, passed and said he couldn't do anything for me. I didn't know at the time there were 30 people gathered at the ER and were praying for me. I'm still here.

I'm living proof that the power of prayer works. 10 years ago I had a simple surgery that almost cost me my life. Doctors were giving up and family was losing hope because I was getting worse. I had 2 preachers come and pray with me and every church in our town was praying for me. The next day a Doctor who was not mine walked in an saw me and rushed me in for emergency surgery. It took 2 surgeries and 2 months to recoop but I believe with all my heart if it wasn't for the prayer circles I wouldn't be here today.

I'd like to think so. I prayed for someone today to find something valuable to them and they found it! Also, it is very stress relieving to give something up that is troubling you to a higher power.

From my experience I know for a fact it works. I wouldn't be here without it

Prayer saves the soul to be like Jesus is regardless what happens to the body. Prayer is a state of mind. If you want to pray in the traditional way don't let humans know that you are praying. We don't know what we should pray for as we ought but the spirit intercedes with groaning that cannot be uttered.
