This is such an old, Godawful question. Look at the expense of food, of housing, of raising multiple children. Add to that the divorce rate, and you have a large group of people who need assistance to live. There is no shame in that.

my mom works for at an elementary school in a pretty rough neighborhood, and most of the the kids that go to this school are from the projects that are near by. and she always tells me about how poor some of the kids going there are and that she feels good that she lets parents know about government assistance and it really helps a lot of families.

but on the flip side, we personally have a lot of family that are on welfare and they really abuse the hell out of it. i guess i should have picked undecided as opposed to "yes".

yes, i have a lot of family that gets it because of disability. the state gets them pain pills and they sell most of it for side cash. buut i live in a pretty bad area so i know people don't stuff like this everywhere
