yes, but it seems, once a person gets on death row it takes for ever to put them to death, wasting Tax payers dollars, if they are found guilty, then with in a week they should be put to death, if it's proven with out a doubt.

Oddly I sort of agree with Sharia law on this: the family of the victim should make this decision. Personally, I'd rather outlaw capital punishment than continue making lawyers wealthy in an appeals process that costs taxpayers $3,000,000 per case on average. Then legalize suicide and give prisoners access to hemlock ad lib.

I believe in anything where the punishment fits the crime. That's why i have such respect for the folks in Texas.

No. What happens if you execute someone but later discover them to be innocent?

I used to, but now with knowing that innocent people have executed, I'm not so sure.
That said, I can understand why the families of victims would want to roast a perpetrator alive and worse.....

I'm not sure about the states but in Canada Ive heard it cost up to $90 thousand a year to house an inmate through school courses,food,heat,guards, I can go on! Why should that be a burden on the tax payer? To hell with him

Nope! One mistake is enough to charge innocent person. Furthermore, life in jail without parole is worse than death.

i do believe in the death penalty and i know that sometimes an innocent person gets found guilty, but with modern technology this is becoming less all the time, but that against the murderers that get released and kill again ..i am for it....

yes, I do...there are some crimes so bad that it deserves the death penalty...that guy who abducted the little girl, molested her and then buried her alive, is a good example.
we had a guy who had been convicted of murder...got out of jail on the other side of the state and started murdering women here(Arthur Shawcross)..
someone who commits multiplemurders or acts of terrorism.What about that guy whomurdered all those nursesyears back and got off on a medical (xtra chromosone)..he lived in jail for YEARS and even had a lover that he openly bragged about(room,board PLUS sex??)
for my opinion, if youa recaught dealing crack/cocainor heroin to ANYONE under the age of 18 you should get the death penalty

I used to be in favor of the death penalty, but not anymore. With advances in forensic evidence, there are more and more cases of people who were wrongfully convicted of crimes they did not commit, and they are released from prison after years of incarceration. I would hate to see one innocent person executed as the result of a wrongful conviction.

In cases where there is no doubt the person is guilty, yes. Certain people who are simply evil and have no issue committing heinous crimes don't deserve to live off tax payers money and get three meals a day and a place to live that often times includes a gym, health care, and cable tv. Things most law abiding citizens can't even afford at times.
