Do you believe in psychic readings?

I was told that I would marry a rich guy and have 4 kids. Blah, blah, none of that was true.

It's a lot of mumbo jumbo. If they can predict the future, why don't they let us know when a disaster is going to hit, or when a child is lost or kidnapped why don't they work with the cops to find that person.

Kinda like the quizzes here on SH, it's all a game.

Yes, because sometimes they can hit it right on the head and it's just breath-taking. Still, you should exercise caution about who you go to as some are just out for money.

God blesses each of us with certain spiritual gifts -- prophesying is one of those gifts. Some people have this gift. There are also many frauds -- and many wannabes -- so people should be careful to not be duped.

However, we all, at times, have our own prophesies that come to us through sudden dreams, visions, etc. -- like a warning. Guardian Angel? The inner voice of God? Who really knows exactly, but I've been protected on a number of occasions by those warnings -- and have suffered at times when I chose to ignore it.

Yes, but some are phony, so you do need to be careful about who you go to.

Are there REALLY still people out there gullible enough to fall for this sort of thing? Even after some of these people, some of the most successful "psychics" have come out and admitted that it is all fraud and cold-reading. Why has nary a single one managed to

a) claim the 1 million dollar reward offered by the Randi Foundation or
b) win the lottery?

There is a Palm Reader on the corner of my street, I know her husband,, He has told me it is all Mumbo Jumbo, and that people are so gullible..You know, a fool and his money are soon parted...

There are so many generalities in life for these people to expound on.. You know, you are going to come into some money. or you will meet a stranger,, or you love life will take a dip,, all crap that happens in the course of our daily lives.....Yep People are gullible....

palm reader and a psychic are two different things, how do you know the husband is not having a laugh at your expence, who knows eh....lol

Well I have known them for 20 years now..,. Crystal ball reader, Taro card Reader,, psychic, are all in the same boat,, just different names... All Phonies....If you believe in the mumbo Jumbo, come see me,, I got some whoppers for ya!!

when i went, she told me what job i had and that we were moving abroad to spain which we were and some other things and there was no way she could have found out this information, but she also told me things that never happened ..so far..i would personally say that 99% are frauds and the other 1% may and i say may, have some gift....

I can ask you questions and make suggestions and gleen what information I need to tell you what you want to hear... Nothing supernatual about it...And those things than never happened if you ask them, well It just hasnt happened yet!..Same with predicting the future... One looks at the past and can pretty well tell what is going to happen in the future....

i knew exactly what you were going to say your so typical ..no one got any information out of me, i'm very intelligent and not in the slightest bit stupid..if fact she told me to be quiet at one point and i then never said a word throughout and she never made suggestions she told me things to which i never told her whether it was right or wrong and pray tell me how they can look at the past....

There are people who have this type of gift...I knew an amazing woman years ago with whom I became friends, She had this particular gift. She never charged anyone who asked her for an appointment. She did accept whatever donation a person wanted to make -- which sometimes was just a grateful hug and thank you because it was all that one could afford.

i don't totally believe in them but myself and three members of the family all went to see her at different times and she never knew that we were related and had no connection, but a lot of similar things were said and too many things to completely rule out her being a cheat...if some of these people on here went to a good psycic, they would not be so quick to say they are cheating....

This is true. Like I just wrote above in my comment, we are all given one or more spiritual gifts -- and prophesying is one of them. Some have this gift. Of course, there are some frauds. But we each have moments when we are, ourselves, are given a type of psychic forewarning. I've regretted the times that I ignored it -- and have been grateful for the times that I paid attention to it. It's that six sense that we all have, but some have a true gift, a very heightened six sense, and can prophesy for others -- and it would be unfair to diminish them by lumping them into the category of "fortune tellers and palm readers" as if they are some carnival side show. These are not the people who put up a big neon sign and advertise...but I agree with your percentage assessment, it's that rare 1% who have the true gift.

Generalities work in both directions.... If they are so damn psycic why arent they millionairs???? why screw around scamming gullible peopole???

yes and no, i have been three times and each time i have been told things that they had no way of knowing, but have been told things that have not happened yet...but the things that were true, it was impossible for them to know..so i'm split...

It is like prophesy,, it either has all ready happened before. or it might happen, it just hasnt happened yet.. It might be a long wait..

You know, people have been waiting over 2000 years for an event that was fortold.,. Just hasnt happened yet.. Makes a good dodge to avoid the reality that some things just arent gonna happen...

I have been to a couple of psychics(for grins and giggles), none of their predictions came true. It was fun tho

But it depends on the reader. I do not blieve in them phone in services

totally agree. knew a guy who did the tarot cards and believed everything so some friends stacked the deck in his favor and like a placebo, he believed everything
