Scientists say that falling in love only takes a fifth of a second. But for R-Patz and K-Stew, it was even faster than that.
"Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke says Kristen Stewart fell in love with Robert Pattinson at first sight.
"She felt connected to him from the first moment. That electricity, or love at first sight, or whatever it is," Hardwicke tells Newsweek.
Hardwicke caught on right away -- and quickly warned Pattinson that Stewart was jailbait.
"You've got to realize that Kristen is 17 years old," she told R-Patz, who is four years older than Stewart. "She's underage. You've got to focus, dude, or you're going to be arrested. I made him swear on a stack of Bibles."
Hardwicke says Stewart actually helped Pattinson land what would become the role of a lifetime playing Edward Cullen in "Twilight." After they kissed for the first time in the audition (on the director's bed), Stewart insisted, "It's got to be Rob!"
Three movies and counting later, they still haven't officially confirmed that they're a couple.
