Do You Believe in Life Outside of Earth?

Pictures of our solar system never gets old to me. I'm always amazed by the beauty of other planets and moons that used to be out of reach. But sometimes, something more profound appears. Once in a while, similarities with home are discovered.

Here is one, for example: After Europa -- one of Jupiter's moons discovered by Galileo Galilei -- NASA is almost certain that there is water under the surface of Titan.

The discovery was made after observing tides around 30 feet high on the surface of the moon, suggesting that Titan isn't entirely made of solid rock, but instead the surface would lie on a sub-ocean.

You might argue that there will be no light from the sun, therefore life cannot emerge, but studies on earth showed that water and heat is all life needs. And for the heat, it would come from the strong gravity from Saturn, intensely squeezing the planet during its 16-day orbit. Do you believe in life on the Saturn Moon?

NASA.GOV reports:
Data from NASA's Cassini spacecraft have revealed Saturn's moon Titan likely harbors a layer of liquid water under its ice shell.

When I was a fetus I believed in life outside the womb, when I was a bacteria I believed in life outside the colon. Now that i'm a grown human I believe in life outside the Earth.

There's probably some other life out there, but I doubt it wants much to do with us.

I believe in other life, but in the form of bacteria, not little green men in spacesuits.

Because the idea of little green men in spacesuits is just plain dumb. Or maybe aliens in spacesuits just isn't for me.

Statistically, it is impossible to believe that there are not other beings outside of earth, and it is really hard to believe that there are not a very large number who are much more intelligent than we are.

Although I have always been sceptical about finding evidence of intelligent life within the confines of our planet.

As incomprehensibly vast as the universe is there must be life elsewhere. If I start thinking about how huge the universe is it blows my mind. Actually I believe there is potential life in our own solar system and advanced life in other solar systems and galaxies.

I think it would be so cool to find out there are other people on another planet. i mean really to think about how they live, and all that would be so cool.

Not only is there life outside of our tiny little galaxy, there are likely levels of consciousness that perceive a alternate reality.

We gotta remember there are other galaxies to out there, so yeah we couldn't possibly be the only beings in this humongous universe, and many many galaxies.

If you really put it into perspective, our solar system is so small compared to the universe. There has got to be life on other planets. I would be shocked if there wasn't!

This might be a weak explanation, but there's too many worlds out there to think we are the only ones in this universe.

I know there is. But if its smart or a actual creature I am not sure. There is also a solar system with a planet just like earth next to us. So who is to say we are alone. Its just the perfect distance from the sun. There is also a planet far off in our solar system thats frozen over so it has water. Who knows what could be under that ice. There could be strange creatures like the ones we have deep deep below.

What if we found life form out there but less intelligent than our monkeys, do you think we should gave them more attention and protection?

I believe there is other life in the universe. The universe is larger than anyone can imagine, so how can someone say confidently that humans are the only intelligent life? It's absurd to think that. Besides, if higher intelligence did exist, they probably wouldn't bother with us humans, since we're inferior to them and not a threat, since our space travel barely even goes beyond our own moon.

Let me ask you something. Lets say you're traveling through space, you find a planet with a race as intelligent as our elephants on it, and that this is the most intelligent life form on this planet. Would you offer this race, and therefore planet, more protection and interest than the elephant on our planet?

No, I wouldn't bother with them. I have no reason to protect them. They're not in any danger or are a threat to any other planet, so why bother with them?

I would expect the same behavior from an alien and more intelligent life form visiting earth :)

I would like to state that I probably would study these lifeforms for a few weeks or months, just to understand their behaviors for research's sake. But again, they're not a threat to anyone, so why do anything to them?
