I am a "born-again evangelical Conservative Christian" and believe the entirety of The Holy Bible (even though I do not understand much of it and why certain things happened and will happen) but my answer is "MOST DEFINITELY". I will be there someday~!!
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand Up now for your beliefs. I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is. "A prudent man foresees the difficulties ahead and prepares for them; the simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences." - Proverbs 22:3
How can you believe the entirety of the Bible, if you don't understand much of it? I'm not saying don't believe. I'm just saying don't follow blindly. Read the Bible. Study it for yourself, with an open mind; compare what you read to your knowledge of the world you live in; and see if it holds up. To believe, only out of fear of consequences, or hope of reward; is not faith. It's covering your ass.
While there is no physical proof that could convince everyone that god either does or doesn't exist, I know He does because this feeling of love cannot be imaginary or faked.
Despite my religiousup bringing and my start to become a minister, I am of the opinion that the concepts of heaven and hell were made by man because he had no place to put the "good' god and the "evil" devil, so to get people to keep the faith, the system of punishments and rewards were put in place. (If you are good, you will go to heaven and if you are bad, you will go to hell)
People feared the dark as they could not see what was going on. This "darkness" was then associated with evil (hell) just as "seeing" the light was associated with truth (it can be seen and is niot hidden in darkness) and was assigned to the sky (heaven) which held the sun.
For me, heaven is a state of mind and when I am loved and I love in return and I know that I have done my best to follow the (non church dogmatic) teachings of jesus, then I have attained heaven, but it is just a state of mind, and not a physical place.
Seriously more "yes", than "no"s?
What is the world coming into...I think we're getting dumber and dumber every day...
I'm an atheist, and instead of accepting fairytails with no proof, I actually THINK and want EVIDENCE to believe in something.
All biological and chemical stuff that runs inside our body, just stops. It all stops.
Life and consiousness is no more than millions of these neural reactons (per sec) inside our brain. Do you think that when we die, there's still activity there?
Of course, if you're religious, you may as well believe in these ridiculous stories that have no scientific proof whatsoever, I don't really care, but I actually pity you.
Inability to understand the real world is pitiful indeed.
not the one of the bible or any other religion. those are boring and man made. i leave this one up to the wonder that is life, universe and all things. essentially, no idea what it is, which makes it so much more intriguing. i'll take my time to get there however.
It's more of a feeling I get whenever I'm eating Buffalo Wings and having my feet massaged, all for free. Oh, and I must be sitting in a room that smells like a Christmas tree.
Sometimes I believe there is something out there, existence beyond life birth and death, but I have my own ideas, don't believe religious interpretations of a heaven or hell
Not in the mundane, Christian meaning of the word--the idea of an eternal paradise is offered by every religion out of fear of death. I prefer the idea of reincarnation, or maybe ascension from the physical realm. I'm currently at a division between the two.
I'm not being ignorant, because I'm opening myself to ideas. The idea of Hell is not backed by reality; in fact, the only record of Hell comes from the Bible, where it is contradicted, misinterpreted, translated wrong, and its existence denied and accepted randomly. I used to believe in Hell, but then I realized this and, knowing that I held faulty beliefs, searched for a different faith. I can only hope that some day you open your misguided eyes and seek a more valid belief system.
I believe that Heaven is where God dwells. Heaven is also everywhere but Earth for now, but I believe that in about a thousand years and the Earth is purified, it will become the place of God the Father's throne, and thereby become literally "Heaven on Earth".
I don't believe in heaven or hell in the sense of being forced to go to either.I believe that the dead can do whatever they want unless they have reason to linger on earth.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand Up now for your beliefs. I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is. Because that's where our next life will be.
