It's a valid question if you are going to claim that there is a god and that something cannot be created from nothing. Remember, to someone who believes in god, he created everything, this includes the laws that govern our universe.

The concept of a being that created everything but whose creation cannot be accounted for is a contradiction.

Also, the concept of 'free will', which god supposedly gave us, and that everything has already been planned out by god is also a contradiction.

The concept of a higher power that is supposed to save us from suffering, yet lets others suffer, is also a contradiction.

Well, when you read the bible, there are a lot of predictions that were made back then that happened within the last 400 years. up through today.

Like what? The bible is a hacked together piece of fiction written by people with a 13th century view of the world.

Oh plus ! umm , where humans came from as in um evolved from , there is still no evidence for that , The theory of us evolving from Apes is not true so where did we come from ?

So we still haven't discovered how our race was created so then questioning How God was created doesnt even come in the question , as since we dont know everything about us , who are we to question other things ?

My church is always growing, we plan on becoming an internationally recognized religion soon, I must inform you that our religion is not for everyone, it takes an open minded individual with a good heart to understand.

But it is perfect, we embrace the human form and all it has to offer, we adjust to changes well, we are highly united and well organized, we are capable of using force, and most importantly we do not judge anyone, we see every person as a human, male, female, white, black, christian, jew, matters not to us.
Many say this, but few use it.

Most of my followers are in Ireland, Spain, Scotland, France, parts of Africa, Asia, Canada and I see some joining me in the future from South America, Middle East and other parts of the world.

We have no official organization yet, we work together in the music industry right now (aswell as other various areas) which I have set up, I suppose our church is wherever I or any of my close friends go.

As soon as we have finished our "Holy book" we will surface, I know many will support me, I already have a strong following.

Can I ask you to tell me more about your own beliefs?

wait. if you went to a catholic school then you should be religious and should believe in god and not the opposite when i was small i went to catholic school for 2 years and yet i believe in god and i follow two religions , each completely different from the other

So did I. The more they explained it, the less sense it made, until I became a non-believer.

The Catholic Church was very important in my neighborhood. The had the Churches, Monastery, Convent, Hospitals, Schools. Did more good than will ever be known. BUT, they were the most miserable people I've ever met. They thought thoughts were sins. I couldn't wait to get out of there every day. I thought it was just Catholics, but it's not. It's religion in general.

Well you must believe that the earth creation was started with the big bang theory but then there is no proof of that either =\ and it is just a theory and even some of the science theory don't have proper evidence and yet people believe it because it is science [ hope you get my point , not tryna be rude or anything about your beliefs ]

"Well you must believe that the earth creation was started with the big bang theory but then there is no proof of that either"

You mean aside from the red shift of other galaxies? Or the background radiation left over from the Big Bang? Or do you reject all scientific proof?

"it is just a theory and even some of the science theory don't have proper evidence"

What do you consider "proper evidence"?

See, that's the thing about science, though. It does get things wrong. But it has a built in mechanism to make sure that those things get thrown out. It's called peer review. Science takes observational data and suggests a theory based on that data. Creationism is the opposite. It suggests a theory, then cherry-picks the data.

"yet people believe it because it is science"

People believe in science because science is based, fundamentally, upon what can be proven to be true and untrue.

yeah but think about it where did all this come from and there is an another theory other then the red shift but this one says the universe expands first then contracts again and this is a repeated pattern , i don't remember the theory name but this is the other theory to explain the big bang and there are two theory as evidence for one theory and each are different from the other and yet they are as evidence for the same theory and even if this theory were real when and how did this start ? they just say billions of years ago but how do we know , we haven't been here for that long
  • Heptarch Lili13 2012/06/21 03:33:40

"yeah but think about it where did all this come from"

That's what the Big Bang Theory was created to explain.

"this one says the universe expands first then contracts again and this is a repeated pattern"

That theory has been debunked. There is no scientific evidence that universal inflation (like what our universe is undergoing now) is followed by contraction.

"i don't remember the theory name but this is the other theory to explain the big bang"

There are multiple theories concerning the nature of the universe, how it came to be and what its future is. The point is that they all start with the Big Bang.

"they just say billions of years ago but how do we know , we haven't been here for that long"

Because we know the speed of light. By using the red shift to measure how far away distant galaxies are and how fast they are moving away from us, we can tell how long the light given off by those galaxies had to travel to reach us.

I'll stick with facts, thanks. If you want to believe in something you can't prove over something you can, that's your prerogative. That doesn't make much sense to me, but I won't tell you you're wrong or right since neither of us have all the answers.

As good a reason as wanting to.

You have no choice in believing in the power of humans however, that is definitely real, and we can play god if we choose to.
