    The IPCC. Check it.

If a super large majority of scientists (nearly all of them) are lying, then we have bigger problems to worry about than being hoaxed on one issue.

I also urge you to check out this book. It gives you tools to decide for yourself.

What s the worst that could happen

Warming naturally? Perhaps, perhaps not. Time will tell.

I do not believe in the religion of Anthropogenic Global Warming.

Edit: As an aside, I recommend the documentary film, "The Great Global Warming Swindle". Quite an eye opener.

Global warming is real, and it's happening. Anyone who doesn't believe it is too dumb to look up average temperatures over the last 100 years and draw a conclusion.

A better question is whether or not it is being caused by humans. I believe it is, and I believe it is primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels. The campaign, supported by the oil industry, to argue otherwise, is an irresponsible, greedy run at the last of the profits to be had from oil and nothing more.

I chose "undecided" because the question is horribly flawed.

Global warming isn't a matter of "belief". It is a matter of knowledge. Belief is the acceptance as true, that for which no evidence exists. Whether or not the surface of the earth is growing warmer, and the implications for life on the planet, is a matter of evidence. Belief doesn't enter into it, at all.

What is at issue is whether or not the earth is being ARTIFICIALLY warmed by the activities of humans. I have seen the evidence of depletion of the ice caps, via satelite imagery. I have seen the evidence of increasing strength of climate-driven weather, as hurricanes and tsunamis. I have seen the evidence of the drastic reduction in numbers of arctic species, across the board. I have seen enough evidence to be convinced that human activity is causing increased heating of the planet.

Earth has had many cycles of cold/warm/hot, in its lifetime. At the extremes, life on this planet has drastically changed. Whether or not the current artificial warming event will affect humanity is a question I'm simply not competent to answer. But, a global catastrophe would be interesting to live through.

    If you live.

If anyone is going to ask, Do you believe in global warming, I would think the majority of the world would word it this way? Not sure how it is flaw? But OK.

There is a huge difference between knowledge and belief. Perhaps most of the people on earth would word it as you did but most of the people on earth have no idea how to use that organ inside their skulls. I prefer not to follow their example.

Belief is restricted to gods, ghosties, ghoulies and things that go bump in the night.

The Earth's climate is constantly changing, so it's hard to know whether it's something we're doing or if it's just doing it on it's own. If humans are having an effect on the Earth's weather, it is most likely a result of deforestation. When I studied meteorology I learned that the nature of ground cover has a big influence on weather patterns. Forest has a cooling and moderating effect on weather, unforested areas are more prone to extremes of temperature and precipitation.

Also sped up by pollution mainly caused by the over use /over burning of fossil fuels. Happening Faster than the trees and other plants can filter and convert it into a healthy clean air.

The earth has always gone through warming and cooling periods. And, it has been determined that humans have added to the warming effect (and, because of humans over-breeding for food, cows & their excessive release of methane gas).

    Nah...you're just good.

I'm sure others have spotted him but I do like to warn the newbies. He's a very poor troll. A good troll can start a thread war, sit back and enjoy it and never be spotted. There were some awesome trolls on the old Usenet boards. I used to be green with envy at their word skills because I've just not got the knack. I'd rather discuss than set off VoldWarIII.

All Somkey can do is spit out inane one-worders. He's pathetic.
