Many religions teach that the person is a spirit or that they have a soul - and that ghosts appear when the body dies and for some reason - whether it be trauma or unfinished business - the spirit remains earthbound. (http://www.angelsghosts.com/ghosts_religion.html) Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism believe that ghosts are people who are suffering and are earthbound and need assistance to be free to move on. Scientology believes you are a spirit, and when the body dies the spirit may hang around before taking on a new body.
Do you believe in ghosts? If so - what are they? Have you ever seen a ghost?

- A soul is a tiny amount of energy or quantum information (qubits, as researchers call them) that sits in an organism's brain during life and gives them consciousness and personality.
- EVERY organism has a soul - you, your cat, the bird flying in your backyard, the tree in your backyard, that spider your cat keeps playing with, even the bacteria on your hands. However, smarter organisms like you and your cat have larger souls (and more energy) than "dumber" ones like the tree, the spider, and the bacteria on your hand.
- Death comes in three parts. The first is when the body shuts down, the second when the brain shuts down, and the third when the soul leaves the brain. For "dumber" species like plants, fish, insects, and bacteria, the soul gets recycled to make souls for new organisms. For "dumber" species like plants, fish, insects, and bacteria, the soul gets recycled to make souls for new organisms. For humans, mammals, birds, reptiles, and other smart organisms, however, the soul survives death and moves out of our sight into a hidden after-life universe right next to our own. These souls are what we call "ghosts," and they eat lots of energy.
- When people claim to be haunted by a ghost, they're really seeing the ghost eating energy in two universes, the one we live in and the one the ghost lives in. This happens because there's enough energy for the ghost to visit our world and the ghost wants to visit our world, whether to see what's going on in our world or because of unfinished business from life.
- When they manifest in our world, ghosts eat up energy, and they'll drain batteries, drop the air temperature, mess with electromagnetic fields, and do lots of other things to get that energy.
