Is it possible for exes to remain friends or is there just too many bad memories?

It depends, but as long as you're both mature enough to put the drama of the breakup behind you then why not? I'm best friends with one of my exes, good friends with another, acquaintances with another and the most recent one I don't talk to, but that's not on my end. He's just not mature enough to handle friendship, obviously.

If there is a will, from both sides, for remaining friends!

Depends on how serious the relationship was and how it came to an end.

And you know it's not just my opinion. It's not right, even if it does happen to work. Come off it already.

Depends on how deep and long the relationship was, and how it did end. It can happen, but is not easy.
One of my ex is also one of my dearest friends, and we almost got married, but I cancel the wedding.
We were together for 2 years, we had an amazing friendship, good sex was an extra, and after a while, we needed some time and distance, we were able to become friends again.
I'm the godmother of his second child, so I can garantee we are pretty close

If they stay IN THE SAME AREA it's MORE DIFFICULT TO BE CIVIL! If there was violence, from ANYBODY (even if it isn't verified-legally) it is DIFFICULT! It IS possible if there isn't violence or HURT FEELINGS on anybody part (unlikely)

I have seen it happen before. Depends on the relationship really.
