It's interesting for me to see the wide varition of opinion from a belief in heaven and hell to differing planes of existence to even reincarnation and also nonexistence. Nonexistence can be nothingness or can like energy changes but is never created nor destroyed.

I really don't know what is beyond this life if anything, but the belief of heaven is nice.

What do you think?.

That's ok. I don't anyone really knows, but we all try to see what we believe in spite of not knowing. Thanks for posting.

The problem I always have is there are countless versions of heaven and hell out there, and since none of the stories have a leg to stand on where evidence is concerned.

As religious leaders of various stripes have been selling the idea of an existence beyond death for as long as there has been religion. It's a powerful lure and serves as an effective pull to keep them there. But lets not forget it only works so well because very few people ever bother to ask these religious leaders to prove their claims.

The common thread with all faiths though, is the promises of heaven, hell, reincarnation, and an afterlife have something in common; none of them have ever come up with compelling evidence or even a strong argument to support the claims.

As despite many, many centuries of confident promises from believers of all types, there has never been a sensible reason to think any supernatural after death stories.

Telling stories from holy books and talking about people that returned as "from the other side" also does nothing as they didn't bring anything back with them to back up the extraordinary story.

I'm personally of the belief that all these near death stories are simply the hallucinations of a dying brain paired with the person who is dying seeing whatever they want to see.

Good points. The burden of proof lies with the individual to decide for themselves and no one truly knows and maybe that's why so many cultures and civilizations have been fascinated with it since humans existed.

I believe when we die we move on to another plane. A higher one if you will, where we continue to live as who we are but in another time. Our body is food for the Earth and our souls carry on with us to wherever we are headed to.

Our souls are everlasting and we just move on to the next plane.

That's interesting about living in another time where our soul lives on. It's kind like the cycle that keeps on going and yet moves on at the same time. It reminds me a bit of the Rosicrucian and some the Buddhist philosophies too. Thanks!

I do believe in an afterlife. I believe people have been there and come back. I think reincarnation is a possibility.

A lot of buddhists believe that and samsara is part of that reincarnation cycle and also different levels of afterlife too. Thanks for sharing.

I really want to believe but just don't know. It seems illogical to me.

I wish I knew. I've read a lot of ideas and theories about it, and like to see what others think. I like to believe it's like this. the light

I like to think so, but I really don't know. The buddhist theories out there are also interesting to me and very unlike the Abrahamic religions philosphies. Buddhist heaven
