Hi again Barefoot and Everyone;Yes indeed,I always wear my car seatbelt.I've been doing that since my father bought our first new car way back in 1963.We had had a rather bad wreck when a college student had passed a Volkeswagon on a hill just south of Huntsville,Texas. The wreck almost killed my father and brother. So i've been wearing them ever since.A nice night to everyone.Tom tomshad@consolidated.net

Installed seat-belts in my 1962 car and drove a few races with it. When some old man hit me and put me over a 5' ditch towards a power pole I was able to do two things... Keep the car under control by not being bounced out of the seat and steered clear of the pole instead of hitting it head on. That, made a believer out of me!

tell that to the cop that harassed the hell out of me because he "thought" I didn't have my belt on. wanted to know where I was comming from where I'm going, my kids name, age. he even called for backup. As soon as he walked to the door and saw my belt on, that should have been the end, but the thug kept escallating.

BTW I was 44 yrs. old with a Masters in quality management and a teacher... driving a 1992 Toyota with dark blue interior wearing a dark blue jacket.

I can't figure out how the cop comming at me @55mph could see I didn't have a belt on as I was going 55 in the other direction. He yanked a u-turn, ran over 80mph passing people in a no passing zone just to pull me over.

BTW 3 of my cars didn't even come with seatbelts. funny, I've never been pulled over in them.

In my state I do not have to wear a helmet on my motorcycle... why MUST I be forced to wear a seatbelt. Isn't it MY choice????? Why are you (basicly) stating that I'm an idiot for choosing not to wear a seatbelt??? I also choose to have a 32oz soda from a styrofoam cup... but based on seatbelt forced philosophy, in NY I'd face jail time or worse...
