KATIE, has been a very busy girl putting her life back in order after leaving the scientologist Tom Cruise. She has hired a new security team. She has went back to her own publicist.
"
Along with the Cartier diamond-studded wedding band that she had been wearing as recently as last week, Holmes was also free of some other Cruise baggage:

- She returned to her premarriage mouthpiece, Leslie Sloane at BWR, sacking the publicist she had worked with since 2007.

- She fired her husband’s security team, which had guarded her as recently as last week, TMZ reported. According to the website, the bodyguard and driver had worked for Cruise for years, even before he met Holmes, and had followed her every move while in New York.

- The actress was convinced Cruise planned to prep their young daughter Suri for an early entrance into the ultrazealous Scientology group called Sea Org, leaving her no choice but to cut ties, TMZ reported.

And I think she faces a pretty tough time. Scientology is notorious for vexatious litigation and pursuing people any way they can to destroy them. It's their policy of "fair game".
Hopefully if they try it on Kate they will be exposed.

I'm glad Katie left Tom to protect her daughter from being brainwashed by Scientology. Tom is a control freak so she had to leave him in order to get away from the cult.

I have a feeling the powers that be within the Scientology 'religion' are quite nervous about Katie right about now. It's no wonder she fired the protection service Tom had provided and hired new. Those who have seen what goes on behind closed doors threaten those who remain when they leave. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was something in the prenup that bars her from telling all she knows about the group.

I for one am glad she left and took Suri with her, got out from under TC's control. I hope she's safe and I wish her well.

Magical here is a Scientologist, and both her and a Scientologist friend of hers switched their desperate attempts to defend Scientology from commenting on every poll about Tom and Katie to saying how lame polls about Tom and Katie are. It's quite hilarious, really.

Actually, that SH is wrong on all accounts. I don't need to be a Scientologist to believe that it is a religion. I respect the rights of people to practice what they choose without being insulted for doing so. There is a saying that "one person's religion is another person's cult" All new religions are called a "cult" (as Christianity was) - and others who believe their way is the only way do so as well. I strongly believe we all have the right to choose our path - whether it is Scientology, Atheism, Christianity, etc., etc.

In addition - this poll makes a false statement - Katie never said Scientology is a cult. Everyone is making assumptions but the truth is that nobody knows what went on with that relationship. It really pisses the haters off that there won't be the dirt and Scientology bashing that they were hoping for. I commend Katie and Tom for handling this quickly and respectfully for the sake of their child.

this may sound rude, I don't give a damn what Karie said or not , all religions are based on cults and they all believe in some kind of superstition and if the movement is small or big , the are all about deception of the followers to assure their obedience to their deity, if it is supernatural or pseudo science, it makes no difference ..
It is all about keeping people dumb so they can be exploited..

As the cardinal said to the king "if you keep them poor , I keep them ignorant"

I don't find your response to be rude at all. All atheists believe that. It is when one group is singled out over another and held up for ridicule that I find offensive. There is nothing stranger in the beliefs of Scientology than Christianity, for example. Jesus walked on water - rose from the dead, the story of the burning bush, and on and on. And I don't use these as examples to be rude or offensive to Christians - but just to make the point that all religions believe in things that defy scientific research/explanation. Regardless, I don't find it necessary to ridicule those that hold such beliefs.

While I don't share your beliefs as an Atheist - I wouldn't attack you for holding the beliefs you do. I just find that there is enough hatred in the world and I can be accepting of the fact that we will always disagree. Personally, I like that - because the world would be a pretty boring place if we all believed the same.

A friend of mines brother is one of their 'worker bees" so to speak, they sold all his possessions and he now lives in a two bedroom apt. with three other adults and makes around 1.50 per hour at his job. When another brother tried to visit him they at first said no but when he came back again they tried to recruit him before grudgingly letting him finally visit his brother.

I read about how some workers are essentially prisoners on their Scientology Cruise ship awhile back after Tom Cruise and Katy Holmes had some kind of event on it and it reminded me of the treatment of my friends brother.

Katie was raised in a conventional home with conventional beliefs. Scientologists often send away their kids from intense indoctrination at a young age. I think Katie was truly alarmed that Tom would consider this for their daughter and I believe that it he core issue of why she is trying for sole custody and why she filed in New York State.

I've said this since I first heard about Scientology and started researching what it's about. Sounds pretty insane to me, but that's just my opinion. I don't believe that aliens landed in a volcano, and when it exploded, the alien "souls" inhabited humans, so in order for us to be "pure" we must "purge" these aliens from our bodies...and to do this, you have to pay them lots of money....

    are you high

frozen bodies dropped around volcanos then blown up. thought scientology has it's own drug rehabilitation program (that is actually crap, and dangerous) it's founder was believed to be hopped up on all kinds of crazy stuff himself.

You would have to be hopped up on something to believe it! (in my opinion). But of course, when you follow a religion thought up by a science fiction writer for the pure purpose of a tax write-off...this is what you get.

hubbard was believe be be on some very strange stuff when he write that. I don't know for sure. but most people don't learn about it till they have been in for so long and paid up to or around $300,000 to scientology for all the classes and stuff they have taken. I know a guy that was in scientology and make it to the top, spend half a million dollars.
  • LittleM... reaper 2012/07/13 18:27:30

Sheesh, I really could think of MUCH better things to spend a half a million dollars on. But then again, it's probably why many celebs buy into the "religion."
