Sure; not allowing people to verbally harass and abuse me in perpetuity is totally me "being a bully", just like ignoring pervy weirdos on the subway is "bullying".

I've only blocked a few on here and have been blocked by the same number. To me name calling is bullying.
If someone doesn't like my opinion it's not my problem. There are those that do. I'd rather communicate with them.

Blocking is a form of cowardice or willful ignorance. It's not bullying.

Actually, its my way of saying "you're annoying and I don't want to be bothered by you."

Its a form of rejection and some folks just cant handle being rejected.

And 'the bullies' are the one who think its okay to constantly harass people they dont agree with, then they bitch & whine endlessly when they cant.

All these points are valid, but to me not necessarily agreeable. Blocking someone kinda goes against the whole idea of communication. Thus far I've been fortunate to have encountered just ONE thoroughly obnoxious asshat on Sodahead. I don't block him, though. The reason? Every now and again he'll say something that deserves agreement/acknowledgement, and if I block him I can't keep an eye on his exploits when he bullies friends. Ignoring him, however, completely grounds his trolling. Trolls MUST have dialogue or their sinister machinations cannot flourish.

    >>>"All these points are valid, but to me not necessarily agreeable"<<<

Having people 'agree' with me is the least of my concerns.

    >>>" Blocking someone kinda goes against the whole idea of communication."<<<

    EXACTLY!

There are many people here with whom I prefer to NEVER communicate; as I mentioned before, I'm only here to be entertained... not annoyed.

And some people are nothing but annoying.

From one side i will agree, assuming that one is being abused, but what if one is being rejected out of hand, then the abuser is the blocker. You can't assume that everyone is blocked solely for profanity, some morons block just because they can.

Yes they are, some of the unfortunate folk feel insulted by such arrogance, and i try to remember that some people use this site as an only means of communication with others, often taking the place of human comfort, but that's me i guess.

Thanks, i appreciate your answer, but what about the other side of the coin? I refer to the indiscriminate blockers. I guess i could have made my point somewhat clearer in my poll, i'm talking about the haters who block without giving someone the opportunity to reply.

I know a lot of people that do that, I don't think of them as bullies but more like morons and cowards who can't stand to hear another person's opinion.
