There's always more to Reality than is being presented at any given time. Reality, in fact, often has very little to do with what is being presented at all. Presentation is about impressions. Reality is often unpalatable (hence the need for Presentation), though it often makes itself apparent in time.

Unfortunately, Yes. Perspective is foisted upon us when we are young, then challenged when we are more self-aware, and revisited as crisis dictates we realign our ideas of concept and self. Much like our personal belief systems of right and wrong, our preferred perspective of the nature of the world and our place in it is mostly self serving, if it is not our oyster it is a prison, if it is a bountiful endless garden of possibilities and flowers yet smelled and paths awaiting traveling, etc...

We become aware that the world does not necessarily conform to our expectations very early on, yet have little understanding or explanation as to why, and when the fairy tales and magical thinking are replaced by the dawning sense of right and wrong and personal accountability and direction we must author, those answers conflict with our programming and juvenile preconceived notions of things that seemed to make sense or simply baffled us that we made up arbitrary rules for when they suited us to do so.

It is a dance, a series of missteps and successful pivots toward a new understanding if we are so inclined to investigate, or are likely as most seem to be, to become enraptured by immediacy and survival based activities and narrow views that go unchallenged in our preferred circles and group affiliations.

It's our job to try to change the world (maybe not on a global scale, but changing the things around you is still changing the world).
