It's a good idea to be prepared for any disaster with food, water, first-aid kit, for at least two weeks. Three days' worth is not enough, which is what the authorities recommend.
I'm really interested in seeing the planetary alignment that's supposed to happen, and I think it might cause some changes on our planet, or maybe not. We'll have to wait to find out.
If I thought the world was going to end in 2012, I would take a minute to decide on my next move. I would max out all of my credit cards, take out a 2nd on my home, do a title loan on my truck, then go and do what ever I wanted with the time I have left.
Civilization may get wiped out by a gamma ray burst or meteorite, but the physical world with which we're familiar will probably end only with entropy...and then start up again.
No more than I think it will end any other year. I don't know if it's true but I heard one of the authors of "Doomsday 2012: A Survival Manual". One of the best-selling apocalyptic books proclaiming the end of the world this year has deferred payment for a reprint from his publishers till April 2013 for tax reasons. I think someone has been telling some porky pies :)
No. Many scholars acknowledge that we're in the "End Times", but the end is not yet. God has made it very clear in the bible that there will be false prophets and teachers regarding this very issue. This is another example of that false teaching and prophecy. Only God himself knows when the end will be near. Neither Jesus nor the Angels know when that will be. And since that verse is clear, everybody needs to stay clear away from these liars who claim to be able to predict these things.
