Actually, you're both wrong. Atheism is the (lack of) belief in the existence of any deities. That's it, nothing more, nothing less. They can practice (certain) religions, believe in ghosts, an afterlife, a magical unicorn in the sky, etc. So long as they don't believe in any deities/"gods", they are atheists.

Agnosticism is the stance that one cannot (currently) know of the validity of any deities existence (or non-existence). Technically, all humans are agnostics because NO human actually knows with all certainty one way or the other.

I think you're the one who needs to read a dictionary. There is a difference between an anti-religionist or non-religious person and an atheist. Atheists can be religious, I'm a religious atheist.

There is NOTHING in the definition of an atheist that states they cannot believe in the supernatural. The only "requirement" is a lack of belief in any deities. Ghosts are considered 'supernatural' and there are many atheists that believe in them. The concept of an afterlife or karma is 'supernatural' but again, there are many atheists that believe.

Also, your definition of religion is wrong. Religion is a collection of cultural systems, belief systems, and worldviews that relate humanity to spirituality and, sometimes, to moral values. -NOTHING about the worship of a deity (notice correct spelling).-

Does your sanctimonious, arrogant self actually believe that you know more about other people than they know about themselves? The definition of agnosticism generally varies for each agnostic, but the general definition is the belief there is no proof of gods existence or nonexistence. That's a bit different from "believing there might be a god". Atheism is a lack of belief. Most atheists you will run into, you don't even notice because religion just doesn't affect their lives. Most will only get angry at religious people if aforementioned religious people are forcing their beliefs or practices on others.

Technically, ALL humans are agnostic because NO human knows with all certainty one way or the other. People who call themselves "agnostics" simply mean that they do not know and many aren't convinced either way.

An atheist is just someone who does not believe in the existence of any deities but the vast majority will readily admit that they while they cannot know with all certainty, they believe that the (lack of) evidence suggests that none exist. (And those who claim that they do know that non exist are just as ignorant or willingly stupid as the theists who claim they know that they do.)

But stupid is as stupid does! In the end we all will find out.

I could call people who believe in god stupid too, but calling each other stupid makes us ignorant to the fact that we're supposed to respect other people's opinions.

The reasons for the belief or non belief can tell lots about a person's intellectual capacity, though.

Intelligence has nothing to do with religion. I know many intelligent atheists and many intelligent theists. I also know people from both groups who are absolute morons.
