Do stressed out men prefer heavier women? Apparently so, according to a study reported by Time magazine. The study, published in the journal PLoS ONE, reports that "when men were placed in stressful situations, then asked to rate the attractiveness of women of varying body sizes, they tended to prefer beefier frames, compared with unstressed men whose tastes skewed thinner."
“This suggests that our body size preferences are not innate, but are flexible,” said study co-author Martin Tovée of Newcastle University in the U.K., in an email, noting that they may be influenced by our particular environment and resources.

Most men prefer leggy and lean women, Gisele Bündchen lookalikes, right? Not necessarily. In fact, the body type that a man finds attractive can change depending on his environment and circumstances, a new study finds: when under stress, for instance, men prefer heavier women.

"Oh, I'm stressed so now I prefer heavier women. Later when I'm not stressed I'll want a skinny woman."
Really? That would suggest serious problems in married life. If she's heavier then he doesn't want her when he's happy, and if she's skinny he wants nothing to do with her when he's stressed.
Nope, I still don't see the resemblance
The meat they talk about is that :
not that
" women who say men like "a bit of meat on the bones" are fat themselves, no one likes fat chicks"
Great to see how a 14 year old girl suddenly speaks for all of humanity.
There's nothing wrong with being a bit chubby if you're healthy otherwise and are okay with it and there's nothing wrong with being attracted to those with more weight.
Do you also tell those girls who are underweight that they need to gain weight and stop flattering themselves?
So do you honestly think overweight people are just overweight because they want to be? You don't consider that they might have psychological problems which they need help for? Or what if they healthy and okay with being a bit overweight?
It's the same as you telling a person who is underweight (I am underweight myself by the way) that they need to start eating more and gain weight and stop pretending everything is okay because it isn't helping anyone. Even if they are healthy/and/or okay with being underweight.
But it seems you hold the two (Both equally unhealthy) to totally different standards. I think your attitude only encourages ED in younger people.
Oh, by the way, I'm underweight too.
Because there are people who think the same about those underweight, and either way it is unfair and not cool at all to be a judgmental prick when it comes to weight related issues.
I noticed a lot of younger teens (And adults too) who are underweight tend to think they are somehow superior for not being chubby or even normal weight, but in honesty it is just a terrible attitude to have and nothing good comes out of it for anyone.
For all you know, one day you'll develop a disorder which makes you gain weight. I have friends who are not lazy or greedy who are overweight, simply for the medication that they are taking.
A friend of mine was at the lower weight BMI until she developed very intense panic disorders and heart problems, she was given medication and now within 2 months of taking it has become overweight. She feels terrible about it, and has sunk into depression, and it's people like you who just make it so much worse for those people.
I said I am not talking about those who are overwieght for a reason like your friends, I'm talking about people who are overwieght because they simply can't control themselves then try to flatter themselves by saying "Men like it" and all that crap, they do nothing to help themself.
And also, no one has ever told me I am underweight in a nasty way anyway, and I am most definetly not saying I'm better than everyone else because I'm underwieght, I'm answering the question - Men do not prefer Heavier Women, and stress has nothing to do with it.
