I think its not because they really like it. I think they feel comfortable in jail. Everything is structured and they dont have to make any decisions on their own.

I know someone who does. They purposely get caught doing one thing after another cause they are use to the inside they say. Being outside is more scarey to him cause then he has to face his demons.

Yes. :( Three hot meals, a roof, a bed, and don't have to make choices for yourself. Some people like that, and it's better than what they got being free. I think most people don't but yes some do.

I have heard this, like homeless guys in winter will attack cops to get a couple of days in jail, because the threat of a being stabbed is far better than freezing to death.

Some people go to jail simply because it is the only way to get structure and organization into their lives. Most inmates do not know, or have no desire to fit into society. Incarceration is a form of escape for others.

I know it's crazy but true ! Some people just can't handle the real world and would rather go to jail than go homeless. Some are even braking down the doors to get in !!! Not my opinion go to any rehab and ask them !!!

After being in jail ome people get familiar and comfortable.Might be harsh comfort, but they know they have shelter, will be fed and clothed, and told what to do and when.

We should turn our prisons back into prison farms. Prison inmates should have to farm 8 hours a day and grow their on food to eat. Basketball and weight lifting only on weekends. Any produce left over could go to the homeless shelters. After a hard days work they should be too tired to have sex or participate in gang activities.

I guess it depends on the person and their circumstances. I know a guy who intentionally set out to be jailed, because he knew that as soon as he got out, he'd automatically be housed. It worked for him, as he had no place to stay, and seemed quite happy to do a couple of months inside. :/ What works for one may not work for another, lol. I sure wouldn't fancy it, but then, my circumstances are different.

You never want to be Homeless in Detroit in the winter. Prison would be like a trip to club Med.

Well I bet the homeless love prison. I think it's horrible that the homeless, innocent people that have probably been made homeless because their selfish parents kicked them out when they were 12 years old, have less human rights that criminals, who went out and killed someone and deserve no rights at all.

there is a word called 'institutionalized',
it is where people have spent so much
time literally n jail that they forget how
to live n the outside world so they easily
    re-offend.

I got used to being locked up for a period of my life, I stright didn't give a f*ck. I've had friends that were way worse than me though. One friend of mine got released after serving 4 years upstate, and he hated life on the outs, he wasn't used to it and was having a hard time adjusting. So he walked into the Santa Ana jail and punched a deputy in the face just so he would get locked up again. He did shit like that several times

it's structured, it's 3 meals and a cot, It's secure. Yeah I can see people maybe liking prison rather than trying in the world. I can see people trying to stay. of having problems with being worried about getting out.
