I don't like feel like the female in the relationship, I want someone to worry about me and care. I am kind of a softy so would be nice to let down my guard. But I do like women that take charge thats a wonderful trate, I don't like followers.

Nah, most men like myself don't want to put up with any BS. However, I think most woman prefer a mean guy.

With me, I'm nice to the nice guys. If the Guy is a jerk, I'm a jerk to them and the boys who follow me around think its hilarious.

I said "yes" because I'm shy, quiet, and nice....yet guys really have no interest in kind, quiet girls. All the guys in middle and high school have only gone after the loud, obnoxious, VERY, VERY RUDE girls. I don't understand it. Maybe guys change after high-school(?) Maybe they just don't like the quiet ones. Or maybe I've just known jerks. Because all the guys I know from school are very rude and immature. I really don't know. But I'd rather be single than with a jerk. I'm not complaining. Much less drama, too.

Men tend to prefer HOT girls, and unfortunately if a girl is really HOT she'll probably know it and be mean because she can get away with it... My lady is beautiful and sweeter than a field of sugar cane.

My guess would be that insecure men will be more likely to put up with a Mean girl. A lot of mean girls tend to be attractive. If you are good looking you can get away with being mean or a jerk (this goes for good looking guys as well). I my self would prefer a cute nice girl over a stunning mean girl anytime. I have a 9 yr old daughter I make sure she is aware of mean people and what to watch out for. I hope she listens :-)

I think that really varies, there are a lot of men out there and you cannot lump them all together. For the ones that do, something is wrong with them. I think they consider them "safe" if they are unattainable.

Some corporate women are pegged 'mean' because of ambition, competition with the opposite sex on an intellectual level. That presentation bump in the boardrooms, is not chest-bumping but confidence in their plan beats out the male.

Formerly abused women seem 'mean' to protect themselves from any emotional expectations.

Women in the alternate lifestyle will automatically perceive men as an adversary, thereby perceived as 'mean'.

Some men, for carnal reasons, require a 'mean' talking, acting, "playmate" but some 'games' take over lives. TOTALLY DYSFUNCTIONAL!

A single, young, employed, living on her own or with a same-sex roommate, woman can be competent, assertive, intelligent, motivated, idealistic (it'll mellow:D) and have leadership skills without being 'mean'.

Yep, yep. So true. It does seem odd these days though that women like me who never attack but not afraid to defend get called bitches and the women who go out of their way to be horrible in the name of exerting their self proclaimed superiority to make themselves feel better are held up as heroes. You're right, a man who actually likes THAT kind of woman deserves all the crap he steps in.

Absolutely. I have always been loving, supportive, helpful, honest, undemanding, and accommodating to the men in my life and every last one of them has kicked me in the teeth (figuratively speaking). Other women treat their men like dirt and the men inexplicably keep a-comin' back for more.
