Do Girl Scouts Grow Up to Be Politicians?

Were you a Girl Scout when you were little? Well, we've got good news for you: 70 percent of the women in Senate now were Girl Scouts in the past. Of the newly elected senators, Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) were all a part of the organization that teaches growing girls about honesty, compassion and integrity.

This is interesting because only about 8 percent of U.S. women overall were Girl Scouts in their youth. That means that most of the Girl Scouts are growing up to be members of Congress and Senate. You go, girls!

    I was a Girl Scout for many years, and loved it, but am not a politician. Love politics, but would never want to be IN politics. It makes sense that so many female politicians were in Girl Scouts, though. The Scouts teach responsibility, love of country, self reliance, love of learning, determination and courage.

    well the troop i was in almost never went out into nature. I don't know how other troops worked but the troop i was in did absolutely nothing but braiding and can drives

    Okay, but what percentage of women their age were girl scouts, by comparison? What percentage of girl scouts become politicians? Looking at one figure really proves nothing.
