My mum gave me a book and had a few small talks. I will definatley be completely open to my kids about sex, if they are old enough to have heard of it and to ask me, then they are old enough to know. I think if they don't ask, you should talk to them about it at ages 9 or 10.
Not really. My mother gave me 2 books to read, told me not to read any other books till I'd finished them, and then bring them to her. When I did, she said "Do you have any questions?" I said "No." She said "Ok."
Then I went to the (male) twins next door who were very good friends and said "You know all those bad words you told me not to say out loud? Well, I think I know what the REAL words are now." We sat down, compared notes, and all came away quite pleased with our understanding of "the facts of life." :)
(I actually did have a question. I wanted to ask "Why did you make me read those boring books?", but I didn't think that would go over well.)
I'm pretty sure my dad is just pretending I'm asexual, and my step-mom hasn't for some reason. My step-dad wouldn't feel it's his place. I actually badgered my mom to give me the "talk" and to tell me her policies regarding dating. She just said that there was nothing she could tell me about sex that I didn't learn already, that she couldn't give me the whole "not until marriage" warning because how how clearly hypocritical it was, and she abstained from answering when it came to the matter of relationship polices.
Not like bluntly, they knew I already knew from school and health classes or just my peers and what not. They just more like it's better to wait until marriage and things like that. We never really had like a "birds and the bees" conversation. Ah, and they gave me a book on abstinence though and strategically placed it on my desk in my room without saying anything to me. lol.
no, not directly or specifically. not as a child, teen or young adult. Come to think of it. Never was sexual education a topic of conversation. Between my parents and I
As adults, we've joked and complained about it. sex or lack of,

Funny too, because that's how we're all here ....but it's just so taboo!
