My children do have their father's name though (non-hyphenated). It does not bother me when my kids friends call me by their surname either. My daughter always corrects them though and says "She is Ms. Smith! NOT Mrs. Jones!"

Sure did and it never entered my mind not to. We're a family with one family name.

Yeah....only b/c I had a funny name like Tom Morrow or Justin Case....so I took his last name to make my name be more normal, but otherwise, I wouldn't have.

And I should've given it more thought before I did it. It was such a hassle because I was 39 when I married. I had to get my professional license, driver's license. passport and several credit cards changed

No, i wouldn't, i'd feel like it would take away my individuality and i'd like to keep my family name as it's important to me. :)

I did not the first time. I knew in my heart it was not right to begin with but it was 'the thing to do'. He wanted all our money kept separate, like I was going to steal his money or anything (I made more than him) The second time I was determined to do it right, including taking his name. It makes you feel more like two in one like marriage is supposed to be. It's working just fine! :-)

If I were married then yes, I will. I would feel much closer to him as a wife.
