Did you know this about C-Sections??

Babies delivered by Caesarean section may have an increased risk for obesity in childhood, a new study suggests.
In the study, children born by c-section had double the odds of being obese at age 3, compared with those born vaginally, the researchers said.
The results held even after the researchers took into account factors
that might increase a child's risk for obesity, including the mother's
weight before pregnancy, her weight gain during pregnancy, and the child's birth weight.
Have you had a C-Section... were you born through C-Section... what was your experience with this issue??

jaydenvdv 2012/05/24 15:34:33+4I had my son via c-section 2 1/2 years ago. He is in the 50% for weight and about 100% for height. He is no where near over weight. I am not over weight either. A close friend of mine also had a c-section. My friend is over weight and her daughter is tiny. can't hardly keep fat on her!

+1That research is crazy. I don't believe that at all. If that were true, every obese person in this world would have been born C-Section.reply - Queen Katherine 2012/05/24 20:01:01
+2That's not always true me and my sister we're delivered by a c section. She's as skinny as a rail...me I wasn't so lucky...reply - Cat 1017 2012/05/24 16:58:59
+1I don't believe that...Both my sons were delivered that way and neither are obese....they are both slim and active young men...Its your life style that causes obesity, not the manner your exited the womb....reply - gr8punkin 2012/05/24 16:29:11

+1Huh. I guess the liberal food taxers will have to start taxing C-sections too then.reply - jaydenvdv 2012/05/24 15:34:33

+1I posted the entire article... true it was short. I have a sister-in-law that has had 2 C-sections, not for the reasons you noted. She is diabetic and the babies were very large. They took them early as well... and they were 9+lbs each. Today he is high school junior, and is small and she is a freshman, normal sized.reply - Wonder ... Andy 2012/05/24 17:31:16

+1Ok I agree with, Doctors can not perform C-Sections without a medical reason. It's not a choice the woman gets to make.reply - AM 2012/05/24 14:58:23
+4After passing out while watching the birthing video My husband at the time arranged for both my children to be born C-sect.They're 18 &21 now neither is overweight in the slightest. One has to buy "extreme slim" shirts.I believe genetics combined with sedentary lifestyle and bad eating habits are far more the culprit to obesity.reply - Sister Jean 2012/05/24 14:55:48

+1I wish they'd cram their "studies" where the sun don't shine. My (least favorite) sister-in-law had to have C-Section for both of her kids and both of them are thin as rails. IMO, they could both stand to gain some weight.reply - nverumind 2012/05/24 14:52:35
