My minimum 'relationship' age is half my age plus six months (18 even). I'm not interested in a companion... I want a worshiper, goddammit!

I don't care whether it's socially acceptable or not. I don't care how much younger my boyfriend is, I'm staying with him whether people like it or not :) Besides, he's legal in my state, so what does it matter?

That may be true for men but I doubt that the same degree of tolerance applies to women when they are the older member of the couple.

While I think age is simply a number when it comes to love I would agree that the range in terms of an older woman younger man would be much narrower in terms of social acceptance.

No. I think what makes sense is likes and dislikes, and how well you can comprimise with each other. But age is not just a number, it's time and experiences apart. ( I think age stops to matter so much at 45 or 50 and above but before that you are still going through changes as an individual and certain stages in your life are still evolving.) To date someone much older than you might be annihilating those stages of your life that you so critically need to know who you are and what you want to become)

I am not saying that age is not a factor, it just depends on the individual.
I don't tend to think of as life in phases so much at least not ones that we all follow. Some people work well together and some don't. An age difference is a factor like different race, religion, socioeconomic status etc.
