Actually Kangaroos abort their young quite swiftly if under duress. I read an artical about it a few years ago. A pregnant female that is hunted or chased will just drop the fetus.

I can not remember which animals do it but there are some who can cause an abortion if they are in such a desperate situation such as not being able to take care of themselves and die if they remain pregnant and will not be able to care for their young. I saw that on a documentary years ago ( no, I can not remember which one ). They either eat something that they usually do not eat or do something physically stressing to their body to cause a loss of the pregnancy. Others will simply eat their unborn for the same reasons and also if they are born deformed or not healthy.

Well some animals have spontaneously aborted (miscarried) but only if conditions were so bad that none would have lived anyways including the mother or conditions changed in their environment, animals are much more natural than humans. It isn't a choice for them.
We have let too many wackos disrupt our normalicy.

But then animals don't think like people. People are selfish and often think only about themselves and whether or not a situation is "convenient" for them. It wouldn't cross an animal's mind to smoke or to "get an abortion". If a dog or cat or any animal miscarries, it's usually for natural causes meaning God caused it to happen. Dog, cats etc don't know what cigarettes are. They don't go to work (unless they're a farm animal and they're paid with room and board), and they don't buy things. So no, animals wouldn't do these things.

My wife is a Veterinarian, and believe me. animals often eat their young sick or not...

I know I raised New Zealand white rabbits and if Frightened the Mother rabbit would eat her young...
Stress, and fear are the motivating factors....Instinctual self preservation plays a role also,, They will totally eat their young and any traces of them to keep preditors away....
