Yes...ME. Hospitalized and diagnosed with schizophreniform. It is like schizophrenia but characterized as not necessarily being a lifelong disorder...you can only be diagnosed with it for up to six months, and then they have to change the diagnosis to actual schizophrenia, or something else depending on the symptoms.

I have made a full recovery since then, however. Experiencing psychosis was probably the most terrifying thing I have ever been through.

I don't know. I'm not aware of someone who has that diagnosis, but it's possible.

My uncle - my father's brother. He was insane all his life. My father was a cop and I remember as a child other township police calling our house for my father to come and get his brother. I always remember him telling my mother to never answer the door if Jimmy (his brother) was pounding on it. Just call the cops. He tried to kill his sister - my aunt for no reason. If was a terrible time of my life. My father was 6 foot 4 inches. Jimmy was 6 foot 6 inches and hard, hard, hard to handle. Still remember all the chaos!

Hey Sister Jean! My father has been dead for 10 years now but Jimmy is in a hospital dying of lung cancer. I won't go see him. He basically ruined my childhood. Hiding under the bed in case Jimmy got into the house. It sucks!

Not personally. I know people with psychiatric disorders, but no one that is criminally insane.

Thanks . . . worse for my brother. His wife is the one with the issues. At least they have finally diagnosed her. That's a huge step.

My crazy brother lives under a bridge in Houston. He kinda looks like Charlie Manson. I've got a weird family to say the least.

My mother was clinically paranoid with schizoid ideation. I think I'm saying that correctly. That means she thought everybody was out to get her in really bizarre ways. Poor lady was the most unhappy person I've ever known. I pray that she is at peace now.

I know. She is fine now but she has been in severe manic episodes where she was insane. I salso had a friend in highschool who was a sociopath (which is now known as anti-social disorder I think) She told me at one tile she wanted to kill animals I do not know if she ever did but she did say she played with dead animals she found.

Don't know a joke when you here one, eh? Since you're new here and on Sister Jean's poll, I'll cut you a little slack. Learn to behave yourself if you want to stay on SH. Just sayin'.
