Yes...ME. Hospitalized and diagnosed with schizophreniform. It is like schizophrenia but characterized as not necessarily being a lifelong disorder...you can only be diagnosed with it for up to six months, and then they have to change the diagnosis to actual schizophrenia, or something else depending on the symptoms.

I have made a full recovery since then, however. Experiencing psychosis was probably the most terrifying thing I have ever been through.

I knew a lady who heard voices. She was in a mental ward for a while because of it. And my step dad has been in a mental ward a couple time before because he's bipolar.

Not personally, but at one time I worked on the Behavioral Science and Psychology unit at the hospital so I met quite a few people diagnosed with severe mental problems.

I have too or three mild mood/personality disorders, but am not actually psychotic in any way. I did GO psychotic for a short time of a few days when under heavy stress as a teenager though.

well, I've got bipolar, so I'm insane. and, how's this for irony, one of the psychiatrists that treated me for a while, later murdered his former boss. she'd deregistered him for erratic and disturbing behaviour, negligence and incompetence. I'd thought all along that he was crazier than me. actually, there isn't a person living or dead, who isn't or wasn't nuts, to at least some degree. there's no such thing as %100 sanity.

yeah. I've alienated everyone I know because of a thing that is beyond my control. I accept responsibility but it makes me sad. and the injustice makes me angry. this thing's just shut me down. sorry, you don't get nuthin. not in this life anyway.

I've had family memebers that are bi-polar and one relative who has been diagnosed paranoid schitophrenic, so I understand the injustices you go through daily.
    My best to you.

Who hasn't? "Stand on Zanzibar" describes a future where people would just run amok or go bezerk out of the Blue which was from a dominant gene, a pacifist mutation was found in Africa.

Many, given that I worked in a psychiatric facility for most of my career...and was elected to a public school board; in that case, I was insane.

I have known a couple and it is tough just to visit them. You feel bad for them but nothing you can do to bring them back to this world.
