According to Hallmark, Father’s Day is the fourth-largest card-sending holiday in the United States. Approximately 94 million cards are exchanged each June. About half of those are purchased for dads. (How appropriate!) 15% are given to husbands. And the rest go to grandfathers, sons, brothers, uncles, or “someone special.”
The two top-selling kinds of Father’s Day cards are “Dad from Daughter” cards and those from a couple or family group. Humorous cards are also very popular, accounting for 30% of sales.
The other top card-sending holidays are Christmas (1.6 billion; including box sets), Valentine’s Day (144 million; not including classroom valentines), and Mother’s Day (133 million).
We think it’s interesting that 39 million more cards are purchased for Mother’s Day than for Father’s Day. What’s up with that?
So, what about you SodaHeads? Did you give someone a Father’s Day card this year?

I also helped my 3 kids make one each for their dad.
