Did you ever go to the movies and there were only five or less people in the entire audience?

I once watched a movie on opening day that had me and another couple in the entire theater. After 15 minutes, they left, so I watched the movie by myself. I enjoyed it, but I think I was the only one.

Yes, I have a few times and it's great! I love it! peace and quiet, no one putting their feet on the back of your chair, no screaming brats, no cell phones, no one talking throughout the entire movie, It's the way going to the movies SHOULD be! It's very rare though, most of the time you're being tortured by all the people around you!

Yes I have, and to me that can be the best time to go. I like going when school is in session, and I don't have to mess with the youngsters that like to disrupt a film you really want to see. My hubby likes staying home, so usually I go to the movie theater by myself, and see what I want to see.

Often when I've gone in the afternoon and the movie isn't just out there are very few people in the theatre.

It was for Jurassic Park. I saw it at a theater in a very small town (only two rows of seating!). The only people was me, my cousin and a couple that sat in the front row.

Matinees are frequently like that. We saw Prometheus at the theater recently, and on a Sat. morning it was pretty full.

During the summer I like to go, when I do, during the day. There are barely any people there unless it's a kids' movie. I don't know how theaters stay open.

Several times, usually at the early movie or when it's been out for a while.

Yes, that's the best time to watch a movie, when there are 6 or less people in the theater.
I always go to the movies on a monday, tuesday or wednsday, the days most people don't. I hate a crowded theater with disrespectful kids using their cell phones to text each other lighting up the theater with those stupid phones.
A movie theater is to watch a movie, not play games on your cell phone, so I go to the movies when kids don't.

By the way, the movie Prometheus was a big disappointment, a waste of money.

    bad movie

Many times. Lol...I always take it as a sign the movie must be worse than I anticipated. Funny thing is, I can't recall the really lousy movies that were so bad, I could not even sit through the entire film. There has been quite a few over the past three or four years.

In fact I've watched movies in theaters alone, but then I enjoy foreign flicks. Watching "Deep Throat" in Tulsa, there was only one other man, and he kept moving to sit next to me...until I moved away 3 or 4 times.

Economic hard times has forced many families to give up something. The 1st to are movies followed by eating out less, shopping & cancelling vacation plans.

Expect no improvments in near future.

A friend and I went to see the re-make of "The Poseiden Adventure". It was the middle of summer and very hot. The guy at the ticket booth warned us the air conditioning was broken in that particular theater but said it wasn't too hot. I asked if the movie was playing in any of the other theaters, it was a huge multiplex. He kind of smirked at us and said no since we were the first two people to but tickets to see it. We went in anyway, were the only two people in the whole place, and the guy was right. It wasn't too hot and the movie sucked.

Well, sort of. It started with a sizable group, but within 20 minutes, Woody Allen's "Annie Hall" had thinned the group down to about that many as I glanced back over my shoulder as I got to the exit.
