Did you ever come across a snake in your backyard?

Quite a bit, actually. There are lots of snakes around where I live.

used to all the time when I was growing up. They make good chile.

Yes...and I've caught them. So far I've caught countless garter snakes, a few black rat snakes, and one king snake. I let them go far away from the house back into the woods. :)

No had a black cat

That is something that I always watch out for. They have always chased me.

I haven't for a few years but used to get the odd red belly black.

yes and I don't fear them. They were grass snakes, the only we have here. My sister is really afraid and she freaked out when there was one in the potato bag (non finished basement)and she was getting some of those. I got it out of the house

Just keep them off the planes when I fly! LOL !

Diamond Back rattler... and boy did we get in trouble after we shredded my friends mom's favorite palm tree to get him out...

Snakes are "rarely" seen or encountered in my country Jamaica. unless your at a zoo. they are almost extinct and most Jamaicans have a high fear of snakes so they are likely killed once seen. It is wrong but that's the reality of it. can't change how people are.

I used to use a push lawn mower.... and I have chased a black snake or two off with it yes.... for real!

Heart jumped. It was the second time my heart jumped. The last time was a month ago, before that it was two years ago. Down in Louisiana, there be a bunch of venomous snakes. It was dark, I ran backwards to avoid being venomized so no pic, sorry.

Yes, and it was fascinating. A small garter snake was eating a tree frog, and it managed to eat the whole thing in one bite.

Yes! But it doesn't freak me out. Tiny little garden snakes are cute and beneficial. Now, if I ever saw a rattler or copperhead that would be a different story.

Yes, regularly in the summer, thank goodness. I wish there were more snakes and less mice.

a massassauga rattler as a kid at our cottage.... and last year a garder snake under a pile of wood I was stacking.... they freak the crap out of me.

and it only freaked me out when i was very young. after that, I learned that there are all kinds of things out there.

At the time I lived in a largely populated area and the snake was in the skimmer basket of my pool. It was small enough to remove with a net. I don't know what kind of snake it was but it seemed harmless, so we took it to a local state park and released it.

I was coming out of the garage and my dogs were circling around something and barking furiously.I noticed a small snake in the center I chased the dogs off and went to pick the snake up to move it to a safer place away from the dogs.I thought it was a gopher snake as I had previously removed one that was sunning itself in the window seat in my bedroom.As I reached to pick it up I heard the unmistakable sound of a rattle.It turned out to be a mojave green one of the deadliest snakes in North America,needless to say I hightailed it out of there,locked the dogs in the garage and the next morning it was gone.

Yes, I am not scared of snakes so I wasn't freaked out, but, I do constantly warn my children about the dangers of snakes and what to do or not do if they encounter one or are bitten.
