Did or do you always attend your child's Open House?

Do you try to get in & get out quickly as possible or do you stick around at the school after you've visited their classroom?
This evening was my youngest daughter's Open House at school, which I always have to drag myself to because I don't like dealing w/people and even less so now that I've moved to this neighborhood that I don't quite fit in to.
It's a quick walk around the class, check out her desk, artwork, ask the teacher how she's doing and I *try* to leave immediately after but they always have other plans. So I have to deal with the parents, who are more times than not, rude! BUT I made it out alive to tell the tale ;-)

I ALWAYS made it a point ..
when I was not TDY/Deployed ..
to attend the open house at MY Childrens' Schools ..
talk with their instructors ..
get an idea of the assignments that the students will do ..
understand the textbook and what the qualifications of the teacher are ..
(IT is astounding how many classes do NOT have teachers within their specialty) ..
and I made sure if there was a 'problem'
I would go and have the problem taken care of right off the bat ..
ask for another instructor .. move the schedule around ..
and let the instructor know ..
IF my child is rude, disrespectful, or doesn't do their assignment ..
Here's MY Phone number and E-Address ..
DO Contact me
(Because, I expected my children to actually LEARN in class)
