She certainly has the looks for it! Miss Rhode Island Olivia Culpo was crowned Miss USA 2012 at the 61st Annual Miss USA Pageant on Sunday, after strutting her stuff in (what else) evening gowns and bikinis. To see the moment when Olivia was announced the winner, wait for the :28 mark in the video below!
"I was just so surprised, so shocked, so honored to be there," Culpo, 20, told The Associated Press. She will now represent the United States in the Miss Universe pageant.

But Culpo has more than just good looks going for her. She's a sophomore at Boston University, and has made the dean's list every semester. She has been playing the cello since second grade (and believes in the importance of teaching music in schools).

As for the whole transgender scandal (the first transgender contestant to compete in the Miss Universe Canada pageant made it to the second to last round last month), Culpo said she thinks "it would be fair" if a transgender woman won, though some people "might be apprehensive." But, "there are so many people who have a need to change for a happier life. I do accept that because I believe it's a free country," she said. Good answer!

ZeldaFan13 2012/06/04 22:11:22Beauty pageants are silly, who cares?+9These things are honestly a waste of time. What exactly defines "Beauty"? It's these kind of things that creates society views on "Beauty"... -_- Beauty is undefinable and it all depends on the eye of the beholder!

just spend money for the right adjustments....and you are in a beauty pagent..
She also was the shortest of the five finalists, but had a knocked out body,.. well, as all of them did.
I swear, something was wrong with my flat screen TV because my wife was watching this Paget out of boredom and I just had to look in on it, uh, duh, but all of these girls had long noses it seemed.
Looked like a witches convention, but they were all gorgeous though. Weirded me out.
Let’s just all fall down.
But there is/was a problem with this action in our schools, especially with the children that went to school after the Baby Boomers children graduated. Like 1990 and up.
There was this appeasement on many completive things. Like dumb-down academics, and beauty contest makes the lesser beautiful feel bad so we won’t do it etc.
Not saying you fell this way, and hope your school has quit this or never did it.
News Flash for you. I do know a lot more than you.
At your age that wouldn't be hard. No insult intended.
I’ve traveled over a lot of the populated world and at my age know some things and just starting to learn more things, never stops, goes on till you die.
Does not mean society needs to put up a phony wall of protection for anyone. That's ALL I was saying.
Yes, my first reply to your post was a bit agressive and over stated.
Good Luck at school.
