Here's how I personally define "deity" or the divine.
Strong patterns and metapatterns (anthropomorphized or not) both immanent (internal) and transcendent (external from us). The holographic universe, multiverses, various forces of nature, various other phenomena, people, archetypes, various dynamics, and anthropomorphized Gods and Goddesses can all be considered Deities and the divine.
I don't prefer to think of deities or the divine as anthropomorphized (given human attributes), generally, I' think of it in terms of Mother Nature. I'm eclectic rather than tied down to any one particular organized religion. I remain largely skeptical and prefer to take the best and leave the rest so I can be a better person for it. I like the idea of connecting or plugging into different the divine (everything is natural) and deities are my preferred focus. Although I have my preferences and way of seeing the world, I also consider the following Switchboard Theory:

A theory of the author’s concerning a postulated network of interlocking metapatterns of everyone who has ever lived or who is living now, expressed as constantly changing and infinitely subtle modifications of current telepathic transmissions and receptions. ...

A theory of the author’s concerning a postulated network of interlocking metapatterns of everyone who has ever lived or who is living now, expressed as constantly changing and infinitely subtle modifications of current telepathic transmissions and receptions. Many phenomena interpreted as “spirits” may actually be “circuits” within this Switchboard, as may be many other “archetypes” of the “collective unconscious.” See Akasic Records, Archetype, Circuit, and Unconscious, Collective. I've had a number of incidents during which I felt a strong inexplicable urge to contact someone only to find they're in need...a child got on the wrong school bus and ended up in the wrong town, a relative just passed over, someone I hadn't talked to in a long time is in their hour of need. So it seems to me that we really do "plug in" sometimes and we don't even know how we're doing it, it just happens.
Strongly connected to my view of the divine are the different forms of love that make the Golden Rule, and equality, more possible not just in theory but in practice. Those forms of love are agape (recognizing the divine in each person and the Universe), philios (recognizing the humanity in each other) and praxis (any action that expresses any type of love, compassion and the recognition of human worth, dignity).
Science has nothing to do with creation! The foundation of the world exist because of the creation of God. Science or no human being superceds the power of God.
