Bridging the Gap with a Dental Bridge.

One or more missing teeth can adversely affect the appearance and functionality of your smile. Missing teeth can cause a change in occlusion (bite), shifting of the teeth, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), speech impediments, an increased risk for periodontal disease and a greater chance of tooth decay.

Dental bridges, like implants and partial dentures, are used to replace missing teeth. There are several types of fixed dental bridges (cannot be removed), including conventional fixed bridges, cantilever bridges and resin-bonded bridges.

Typically, conventional and cantilever bridges require shaping of the teeth surrounding a missing tooth. Crowns are then placed on the shaped teeth and attached to an artificial tooth (called a pontic).

A resin-bonded bridge requires less preparation of adjacent teeth. It is often used to replace front teeth, provided that the gums are healthy and the surrounding teeth do not have extensive dental fillings.

because we live in america where people are stingy and self absorbed. if some1 doesnt look a certain way or have "perfect" teeth, we pay up the ying yang for it to get fixed. we cant handle the ridicule handed to us by the pretty man/woman. dentists feed off this knowing people will pay...

I'm sitting here looking at the bridge I have to have replaced and I don't see $2000.00 plus staring back at me.

Only $2000? Try $3000 plus digging out the decay in your jawbone caused by your failed bridge and crowns!

It truly is pathetic how much money decent dental costs! Especially when the crowns and bridge all leak and fail causing even further decay under them you aren't even aware of until its too late.

It's because Dentistry has become like Walmart, they sell everything you can think of. Why they even do boob massages, if you are the right persuasion. Dentists have a lavish life style to live up to, and we are the lab rats.

Because lawyers are awarded big money in lawsuits for malpractice. The large amounts of money paid for mental and physical pain are unique to America. Thats why we pay more than anyone for health and dental insurance. The many must suffer for the few that win the lottery in America. The rest of the world understands human sufferage and know it is the way life is. They expect to be recompensated but not for the anguish also most first world governments subsidize there health and dental with tax money. The European systems really do work better than ours and they have fewer resources and land to work with.

yup, our government is too busy funding dinosaur digs and paying people $400K to study on whether we'd be prepared for aliens to come to earth! Talk about a waste of money!
