Last week, veteran actor Danny Glover was honored at the Deauville American Film Festival in France for his contributions to American cinema. Good for him! We couldn't be more proud. Really.
It's just too bad that he wore an awful set of shoes to the event.
No, not Crocs. Toe shoes. Yeah, you read that right. And we bet you can just imagine what those gems look like.
Toe shoes -- possibly the worst form of footwear out right now -- look as if you're not wearing any shoes at all. They're typically worn for physical activities like running and are meant to simulate being barefoot.
All of this is awesome...for the gym. Not for a red carpet (or blue, in this case) event.

Listen, Danny. This is how it usually works: When you get honored for something, you typically take your best suit to the cleaners and get your most expensive shoes shined the day before the big day.
You do not wear toe shoes.
But, alas, the "Lethal Weapon" star is no conformist. So he wore the pair of Vibram FiveFingers sports shoes and acted like he owned the place. And we're left contemplating the relevance of these very shoes because of that fact.
So, what do you have to say?
Are toe shoes just as terrible as Crocs -- or do you actually think they look kind of cool?

I NEED A HORSE 2011/09/13 19:21:32No, both shoes are awesome

There is no shoes more weird than the gosh awful "kicker" pointed toe spike heels that women are wearing now.
I was recently in Las Vegas watching all the girls going thru the casino to the clubs in
their skyscraper high heels like they owned the place- 3 hours later they came back thru limping and carrying their "feet killers". WHY would any woman WANT to be that miserable?
Give me the "barefoot" feel of toe shoes ANY day. And by the way, I wear them to work EVERY day myself. Sure they look different. Big Deal!! Give me comfort over style anytime!!!!!
