Just like the Olsen twins before her, Dakota Fanning is now a freshman at New York University. But don't expect to see her wearing sweatpants on campus.
"If you ever catch me in sweatpants in class, that’s not good," the "Twilight" star told People magazine. "I've tried not to dress like that."
Ouch! Is that subtle dig at all of us NON-famous college students, who perhaps can't afford to dress like this:

You WILL, however, see the Los Angeles native dressed appropriately for the New York weather.
"I knew to bring a lot of coats, and my Hunter rain boots," she said, adding that pink is her favorite color.
Pink rain boots, anyone?
Fanning will also most likely have a little help in the fashion department from designer Marc Jacobs, seeing as she serves as the face of his latest fragrance, Oh, Lola!
We have to admit, she does look pretty cute. The bigger question is, will she actually graduate? The Olsen twins didn't last very long ...

All I got to say is dang. I thought all cute girls grew up and stayed cute. Her make up artist is a miracle worker.
I prefer to always look decent and put together, even when I'm just being mommy and taking my daughter to Gymboree. I just feel better about myself and it shows that I care. That being said, when she was first born up to when she was just a few months old, I definitely did the grocery store run in sweats from time to time. I was so tired, and not clear headed, I couldn't even think about dressing nicely. But it made everything feel so much worse.
Also, in college, I wore the sweats occasionally too, but I tried to pretty them up. Cute sneakers, a cute t-shirt, combed, presentable hair. Sometimes it was the best I could do.
Call someone who cares.
This is exactly what I wore today
A bonus about college, from what I've seen from my school. It is not superficial in sense that no one cares what you are wearing. Do your own thing. Dressing up is for when you want to impress people at a party, unless you need to have eyes on you all the time. People are growing out of that stage of high school. After college and into the real world, we'll care then.
And hey, come to Minnesota. Negative 30 degrees and high wind chill are awesome. Those 5 inch heels blend in with the 3 feet of snow you're tracking through. If you live here and don't own at least one pair of sweatpants, or any loose pants for that matter, you are the insane one.
Whatever makes you get the job. The degree is the goal, not being approved by the "fashionista" whiners.
