Cyber criminals rob $60 million from banks.

Sixty million euro has been stolen from bank accounts in a massive cyber bank raid after fraudsters raided dozens of financial institutions around the world.

According to a joint report by software security firm McAfee and Guardian Analytics, more than 60 firms have suffered from what it has called an "insider level of understanding".

"The fraudsters' objective in these attacks is to siphon large amounts from high balance accounts, hence the name chosen for this research - Operation High Roller," the report said.

Is your money safe?

..oh no, my money isn't safe; it's in an American bank, being watched over like a fox looks after a henhouse...(foxes overseeing henhouses aren't regulated, either; the foxes are allowed to regulate themselves..)

Your money could vanish in a heart beat with a court order or a cyber thief.

Well at least the first $100,000 through the CDIC. I have had no problem on line and even if the 60 million euro's stated in the article was from one bank it would hardly be enough to bankrupt the bank and is rather small considering the amount of money in financial institutions around the world.
Besides I don't have large sums of cash in the banks for them to target me.

I have serious doubts that anyone's money is safe, in this day and age of electronic thieves. No matter how good the security there will always be evil people who are just a little bit smarter, and come up with new ways to steal.

i've never really thought my money was safe in the banks, Anyone who knows the banking system/monetary system, knows this as well. Especially with everything being done electronically anymore there is no saying where your money will end up.
Once your money is in the bank , its no longer truely your money until you have withdrawn it.

I just checked online, and so far, so good. I check at least once a day to stay on top of balances and transactions. I'm no high roller, so I'm not a likely target for now.

Get a heavy safe and bolt it down to the floor, and put your money there. However you must sleep with a gun under your mattress just in case.
