Tea Turalija discovered she belonged to a secret Catholic cult that developed when the Ottoman Empire occupied Bosnia. The cult members identified each other by tattooing their hands and arms using a compound ink made up, in part, of human breast milk.

The communists took over Yugoslavia after World War II and forced the end of practicing Catholicism. Ms. Turalija met some Pacific Islanders, who have a long history of full-body tattoos. i think this is the most beautiful thing ever. honestly, i cant wait to be a grandma and show all my kids and grandkids my tattoos. tattoos arent just a trend, its a way of life. mine mean something to me and i would never regret them. also, it just shows she lived her life to the fullest! youu go grandma!:)

I find the story hard to believe. You don't just discover you're part of a secret cult, you're inducted.

But on the thought of grannies with tats, I'm all for it. Hey, if it makes you happy that's all that matters. Just because you're a grandmother doesn't mean you have to conform to society's ideals of what a grandmother SHOULD be. Break out of the norm. This is the 21st century after all.

My granny didn't have any tattoos, but she was a stone cold, manipulative, guilt using WENCH with a B. The meanest woman I have ever known.

Wow! That's too bad... My other Granny was full Irish and she had a temper to go with it. If you didn't like what she said then that was just too bad. Very stubborn and VERY Irish!!! LOL.

Joking aside - How the hell do you "discover" you're part of a secret religious cult? You suffer amnesia and wake up and go "Oh crap, I'm in a cult!!" And then she's okay with it? It sounds like Tila Tequila has issues. And it's none of my business but she sure aged quickly!! Wasn't she stripping just a few years ago? Just saying....

I'm not sure I like the religious cult aspect but I do believe if they want to get tattooed that's their business. Tats are a personal thing and for those that get them for a specific purpose it is even more personal.

This story is Super Cool... How many of you answered before reading the story..? Did you regret it after learning this was spiritual and done traditionally by hand by island people..? No.. still didn't care..? I thought this was a great story and I want to meet those people.
