Paris Fashion Week may seem worlds away, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy a little runway action from home.

As the week of outrageous shows and lavish parties wrapped up Thursday, Jean Paul Gaultier was the talk of the town for bucking a dry spell and producing a collection that had critics proclaiming "a living legend got his mojo back."

Mojo or not, the collection was vast and ambitious, referencing everything from punk to pinstripes to the Parisian cancan.

After checking out some of the collection's most striking looks, do you think Gaultier deserves all the praise he's getting?

Runway fashion has nothing to do with real clothes. Some of the influences will show up-like stripes or ruffles......but it is meant to be an art form.

I'm not saying that these clothes aren't beautiful, they are. Wonderfully creating and absolutely breath taking. But who's going to wear them? They almost look like a classy, less-extreme version of Lady Gaga outfits.

Those outfits are fabulous works of art! I just wish designers would use more average size or "plus" size models so I would know whether or not they would look as fabulous on me as they do on the super thin, super tall models.

I love runway shows.

They're not made to wear. You don't see them for sale. It's more like wearable art. Designers go crazy and wild because the runway is the only place you'll see these garments. Why make everydayish traditional clothing for a runway, isn't it more exciting to see something new, inspirational and out there?

Pfft, I would totally wear some of this stuff in real life. (Though I have kind of crazy fashion taste anyway XD) Favorites are 2, 4, 7, and 9. I LOVE 9. I would be all over that. I remember looking at Givenchy's collection last year and being like DAMN I wish I could buy this stuff. It's so insanely awesome.

Class? Well, I can imagine many with class and IMAGINATION would wear these outfits. If you want to talk about "class" maybe you should be pointing your fingers at some of the mainstream fashion that mainstream young girls are wearing these days. You see 13 year olds dressed up like 30 year old ghetto mammas. Now that is NO class.

Hey, I plan on becoming a fashion designer, and I must say, some of these dresses are a work of art! Truth be told they are more "GaGa Style" than "Red Carpet Style" in my opinion. However, you can't just look at an outfit and think "What the hell is that suppose to be" or "That's ugly." You've got to look at the creativity of the outfit, the different fabric it's made with, the construction of the dress, and the overall 'personality' of the outfit.
So, next time you see a dress that you think is totally hideous, don't disregard it right away. Take a second look, and maybe, just maybe, you'll see the outstanding creativity, thought, and personality that was put into that particular piece.

Yes, they are beautiful, clever, quirky, romantic, and inspiring. Runway is never meant to be everyday wear, it is meant to inspire hightened fashion among the lesser fashion gods and goddesses.

Personally, I just throw on some skinny jeans, a t-shirt, hoodie, a hat, and some sneakers and I'm good to go. I like numbers 1, 2 and 7 though
