Court fines man for beheading wax Hitler

- A German court fined an unemployed man 900 euros ($1,227) Tuesday for knocking the head off a waxwork figure of Adolf Hitler in a Berlin museum.

Minutes after the Madame Tussauds museum opened in the German capital in July, the 42-year-old pushed past security staff ripped off its head. The man, an ex-policeman, said he found it inappropriate to display an exhibit showing the Nazi leader only some 500 meters from Berlin's Holocaust memorial.

The waxwork of a glum-looking Hitler in a mock bunker stirred debate in Germany even before it went on display. Critics argued it was tasteless to display a replica of the man who unleashed World War Two and ordered the extermination of Europe's Jews.

Madame Tussauds said the museum avoided politics, arguing Hitler stood for a significant part of German history and his waxwork therefore had a legitimate part in the exhibition.

The restored figure was returned to the museum in September and is now displayed behind a glass wall.... Read full article »

Honestly do some research instead of believing in this Utopian good. I was convinced of it being good at one time too. It takes lots of logic and understanding that it simply cant work with imperfect humans that naturally want to pursue their individual interests. that is the fallacy. Everyone will not work for the greater good. It becomes forced. Not voluntarily. you may not have a hard time with authority but I do. There is no such Utopian society.
The Marxist admitted that many "socialist" countries around the world were failing. However, according to him, the reason for failure is not that socialism is deficient, but that the socialist economies are not practicing "pure" socialism. The perfect version of socialism would work; it is just the imperfect socialism that doesn’t work. Marxists like to compare a theoretically perfect version of socialism with practical, imperfect capitalism which allows them to claim that socialism is superior to capitalism.

If perfection really were an available option, the choice of economic and political systems would be irrelevant. In a world with perfect beings and infinite abundance, any economic or political system–socialism, capitalism, fascism, or communism–would work perfectly.

However, the choice of economic and political institutions is crucial in an imperfect universe with imperfect beings and limited resources. In a world of scarcity it is essential for an economic system to be based on a clear incentive structure to promote economic efficiency. The real choice we face is between imperfect capitalism and imperfect socialism. Given that choice, the evidence of history overwhelmingly favors capitalism as the greatest.

If he had knocked over any other wax figure you bet your sweet booty he'd be paying that fine. Just because it's Hitler means nothing. :( Yes, he was an awful man, but he is there representing that evil! We will never forget! Never forgive!

You maka me laff! But, I must stop now - it's time for beer - the Cubs just won (but, then again, that has nothing whatsoever to do with me needing beer). Have a great night - fight the good fight, and I'll see you out here another time.

i think he deserves the fine. it was a museum, not some figure made by the neo-nazis. history is very important, especially when it relates to the bad things. take away all the memories of what happened and it is likely that all the atrocities will come back.
