Andorra has the highest life expectancy of 83.52 while for some African countries the life expectancy of their occupants is as low as age 32!!

What do you think of this list? Does anything about it surprise you? Is your country at the point where you expected? I found mine to be lower down the list than i had thought!

Not really surprising. The low ones are mainly due to very high infant mortality rates, but once a person has managed to survive past about 5 years old, odds are fairly good that they could live nearly as long as they do in the western world.

There were some countries with a life expectancy of 37! I would suppose if that is all you knew it would just seem natural. I wonder why it is so low - disease, environment, economics. It has inspired me to look into it a little more - not that I can actually do anything about it. Thanks Anjirocks!

I'm a little surprised. I figured the U.S. would be in the 80s or so.

Mine is 78! I guess that sounds young, I would have thought mid 80s-ish -- interesting!

Not surprising at all for America.
78 is a very accurate reading for our life expectancy.
We are still pretty high on the list, though. I thought all of it was pretty accurate.

some poor countries people die younger because of severe malnutrition and aids, while other poor countries haven't had enough connection to the outside world to catch all the nasty diseases and are only slightly malnourished and don't have access to all the refined crap we americans eat.
