Imagine living off the land, producing your own food and energy, getting away from the consumption economy that drives so many of our decisions. Off-grid living has always been something I wanted to do could you do it? Could you manage your life without the Media, Cellphones, Televisions, Processed foods like Mcdonalds
Tim Hortons, Ihop ect.?

Nice fantasy, but there are too many things I wouldn't be able to make-- structures, materials and medicines. Besides, from my experience in the army, everything is a hassle when you live rough. The simplest tasks require triple the time and effort.

Thirty years ago, I would have enjoyed the challenge. Today, I have other challenges to deal with and don't need the additional layer of inconvenience on top of it all. :O\

Besides... I wouldn't want to lose touch with my friends around the world. The internet is about my only real concession to technology.

It's an idea that has always attracted me. It would however be hard to find a piece of land 'off the grid' in the UK.

I've been a city girl my entire life! Never even have gone fishing! I wouldn't last long out there in the wilderness..

I like camping and getting away from time to time, but I enjoy the grid and am willing to pay for the lifestyle that it provides.

Not at my age...and it really didn't make much sense even in my youth.

Nope. I rather enjoy technology and my life would be quite empty without it.
